When we used to come here on a motorcycle, we ate at nice seafood restaurant on the water. Now that we have everything to cook right here in the trailer, eh, we had lasagna here last night..

Fun surprise to have an east bound E19 join our west bound E19 on Wednesday night, Jan. 25, 2023, at Escapees Dream Catcher RV Park in Deming, NM.

Second fun surprise this trip to have a 2021 E21C join our E19 on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023, at the Palm Springs / Joshua Tree KOA.

Our third fun Escape sighting this trip. This E21C was in place when our E19 arrived this evening at the Sonoran Desert RV Park in Gila Bend, AZ, on Sunday Feb. 5, 2023. This RV park is one of our favorites.

Fun fourth Escape sighting this trip. As we arrived we spotted an an E21 in the Gila Campground area. Our E19 is down the road in the Hacienda Campground area. We are glad to be in the same Arizona state park on Monday night, Feb. 6, 2023. The campground was full, so you should make reservations. Roper Lake is one of our favorite.

That’s me. Picked up the 21C January 19th and taking the long way home back home to Ct. leaving tomorrow for New Mexico. It’s been an adventure. Overall enjoying the Escape, some issues which I would attribute to not paying attention to the details on Escape’s part.

Spotted an Escape 19 in Palmetto Island State Park south of Abbeville Louisiana today. Looked really nice with blue graphics. No one there for the wife and I to meet! Weather was so nice today we went out for a drive to check on one of our favorite local campgrounds.

Nice to connect the E21 to a name. Thanks. SOunds like a wonderful first adventure. Hope you’ve successfully stayed warm! We’ve had some really cold nights during the past couple weeks.

We passed thru NM today on I-10 today. Now in Alpine, TX, at the Lost Alaskan RV Park.

Interesting comment about issues you’ve experienced. Hope you are going to share your findings via this a topic in this forum. Are you also a FaceBook Escape Travel Trailers group member?

My Issues,
#1, The first time I went to turn on to the inverter it did not come on. Upon further investigation I found the inverter laying on the floor unplugged. It had broken free from the cross member where it was fastened because the screw placement was about 1/8 of an inch from the edge of the piece of wood causing it to split.

#2, A screw anchoring a cable on the inside of the cabinet in the area in front of the stove caused the wood to split. Escape’s solution to this was to place a piece of wood grained tape over the affected area.
I have reattach the inverter but I will do a better job when I get home and I will also address the split cabinetry. To me this demonstrates a lack of caring and pride in your work.

As far as staying warm we have camped several days without hookups and it certainly does gets nippy in the desert at night but we have managed with a Buddy Heater. As we head east from this point on we pretty much have reservations (with hookups) except for travel days where we will either find a campground or improvise. We have stayed at rest areas and Walmarts.

You didn't get a furnace with your trailer?

Hi Diannel,
I do have a furnace, I guess I want to be a little better informed regarding how much the furnace fan will draw down the batteries I have a single solar panel with dual 6 volt batteries. My Casita’s furnace fan would draw down the battery pretty quickly(no solar) and you had to be judicious how you used it. I will figure it out and hopefully someone can offer some insight.

Hi Wig, sorry you had those issues with your new Escape, hopefully you can resolve them and they won't be a bother in the future.

Personally, we ditched staying at Walmarts after a couple of sketchy experiences. We have found Costco's to be a pretty good bet plus you could have a hot dog or slice of pizza for dinner as you do not need a membership for the food court. Of course Cabela's, Bass Pro Shops are always a sure thing. Be sure to call ahead for all of those establishments.

Hi SageRpod,
Thanks for the Costco tip I wasn’t aware that they allowed RV parking. I did have a sketchy Walmart experience this trip. I arrived at the store and parked in the designated area (I called first) and a guy in a pickup must have circled around us 5+ times and then went and parked in a corner of the lot. He could have just been curious but as the evening went on more RVs arrived and I wasn’t as concerned. As I mentioned I am enjoying the Escape overall but the devil is in the details and that is something ETI should pay more attention to.

There're reviews for each Walmart and we do check them. We've passed on a couple based on iffy reviews and only once moved on after being in one for awhile and learning of an unsatisfactory situation nearby. But the more you travel the more places you find out about. Our milk run to Arizona used to only have a few places that we'd stop at enroute. Now we have many more choices and it means having to decide which ones to pass on by.

If you don mind what is the site you use to check out the Walmarts. I hate to admit it but I haven’t been out west in 40 years, forgot just how beautiful it is. Most of my camping is in New England and the south during the winter months.

Hi Wig, I'm not Ron but we use Campendium and Allstays mostly. I'm sure there are plenty others out there that have local reviews of places to stop over and much more.
