Trailer: Escape#4, 2019 Escape21 DejaView pulled by 2014 Ram Hemi/8sp
since the purchase of Quahog, I have been inundated with extended warranty requests on the various Escape appliances, a/c, water heater, maxxfan, refer, furnace and even the toilet.
What are your opinions on these extended service contracts and perhaps experience in handling items out of warranty. Thanks for your comments.
"Never in doubt,..... often wrong!"
I treat them like insurance. If you can't afford to take the hit when it breaks, they may be worth it, however, since the company selling the product is trying to make money, in the long run it is going to cost you more. If you purchase one be sure you understand the exclusions - most of the companies have been in business long enough to know what usually fails, and often excludes the usual problems.
The only service contract I've ever purchased is on my laptop computers - I did use AppleCare on one of the laptops & actually saved $; on the other two any problem appeared during the original warranty.
