But wine doesn't tolerate temperature changes very well so that is why I stick with whisky and my wife drinks white wine from the fridge.

Most cats I have seen seem willing to deposit in our flower beds, no problem.
But yes, a dog does seem to be simpler to own. The fact ours refuses to "go" inside is a bonus.
Okay, another serious question. I know a few folks with cats, and the litter boxes are a wee bit odoriferous. Is this not an issue in a small trailer? Or does it keep the riffraff away? LOL

Well, if you keep the litter box scooped frequently and your wife bakes cookies often it's not much of an issue
That was one factor in trying out having the litter box in the bathroom, though - the ability to close the door and turn on the fan. And in the bathroom if there are any odors, we can blame it on the cats

I like the cookie and blame the cat ideas.

Sounds like you need to make a cat food dispenser. A vertical tube that you load the cat food in the top and pull it out the bottom when required.

Quick update on an earlier glitch we had - the range hood fan motor died on the first use a couple of days after we picked up the trailer. I emailed ETI, they mailed a replacement motor which was waiting for us the day we arrived back in Austin. Installed it yesterday, back in business. I just ordered one of the SAM-1 range hood motor/light upgrade kits and will put that in the queue of modification projects - we don't really mind the lightweight Heng fan motor, but the light on the Heng is kind of a joke - we actually use it for accent lighting in the dinette at night, but it's pretty worthless to light up the stove when cooking.
May not be quite so lucky with the leaky black valve - Dave's initial response was that given the amount it is leaking the valve will likely have to be replaced. ETI would pay for that at a service center if we wanted to go that route, but that is such a huge hassle that I will do it myself. However, before doing that I'm going to try some of the other remedies suggested, once we got home and the tank was empty I sprayed the heck out of the valve with a garden hose and will let the tank sit with water in it for a few days and then see how much it is still leaking. I picked up one of the add-on dump valves that fits onto the sewer hose connection so if the leaking remains bad I have a temporary fix until I get around to replacing the black valve. I couldn't reach around the corner through the sewer outlet to get any silicone grease on the valve, will try spraying some lubricant in there if the leak hasn't improved in a few days.

We did the range hood light upgrade. Love it.
Thanks tdf-texas.

We picked up our 5.0 in early March. We’ve camped about 25 nights in it and we love it! We are very happy with our purchase and wouldn’t hesitate doing it again. We loaded it up with the options and use them all. Our F150 3.5L pulls it great. Little to no
issues.
We have experienced some of the compartment lock issues as mentioned earlier.

Best time to take delivery of any new fiberglass trailer is in the RAIN!
That way any leaks can be dealt with before you leave the manufacturer's location.

Good try, but they water test all trailers first.

Still can leak after the water test and before delivery.
Besides trailers, cars, trucks and most everything else looks better when it's WET!

I'm wondering about border crossings: I know the 14 bottles would be an issue; I'm trying to imagine the conversation at the border over 60 cans of cat food .

From the Canadian Food Inspection Agency
"Travellers may bring into Canada a personal import of pet food (limit of 20 kg), if the import meets all of the following requirements:
The pet food or product must be of United States origin and be commercially packaged.
The pet food or product must be in the possession of the traveller at the time of entry from the U.S.
The animal that will eat the imported product must accompany the traveller at the time of entry.
The imported product is fed only to the animal that accompanied the traveller into Canada."
I hope each of those 60 cans weighs less than 1/3 kilo

Hi Dave,
I installed these locks as soon as I got the trailer, and it is an easy swap.
From Amazon; Prime Products 18-3325 7/8 ACE Camlock- Pack of 4
https://www.amazon.com/s?k=Prime+Pro...ref=nb_sb_noss[/QUOTE]
Just received my set of these locks, five minutes to replace the original locks. I have used these before and they are both more secure and seem to hold up well, never gave me any problem like the stock locks were already doing.
One helpful bit of info - I always like to have extra keys, the set of four locks only comes with two keys. You can call the manufacturer, Prime Products at 800-327-7463 with the key number on your key and they will sell you additional keys for $5.95 per pair.
I also went to the website for the front door lock, www.rvlocksandmore, and it's easy to order additional keys online from them as well.

Good try, but I had to have Escape ship me a replacement window as soon as I got home from Chilliwack because there was a 1/2" gap where the split window didn't even touch the seal in the middle.
A water hose directed at the window shot water half way into the trailer.
A manufacturing defect from Hehr but there was no way that was tested.

Dave, in post #43 you provided a link to another set. That set has a 5/8" cylinder. I'm guessing that when you got home you realized you needed a 7/8" cylinder?

In my first post I was just mentioning the type of lock, and said I'd have to check on what size. In a later post Padamas provided a link to the 7/8" size and said they fit perfectly, so that's what I ordered and they are just right.
