Thanks.
Haven't heard anything from FORD yet, just ran the health report and it didn't come back with a recall on the tranny. My F150's a 2012 so it may be part of it.

Good heads-up, Donna.
These articles give more useful detail (and don't have the annoying video popup of the CNBC page); the first one contains the actual Ford press release:
Ford Mustang, F-150, Expedition, and Lincoln Navigator recalled
Ford recalls 202,000 vehicles for transmission issue | MLive.com
Quote:
The affected vehicles have a 6R80 transmission in certain Ford F-150s built at Dearborn Assembly Plant and Kansas City Assembly Plant, Aug. 19, 2011 through March 9, 2012; 2012 Ford Expedition vehicles built at Kentucky Truck Plant, Aug. 19, 2011 through Dec. 19, 2011; Ford Mustang vehicles built at Flat Rock Assembly Plant, Aug. 19, 2011 through Feb. 21, 2012; and Lincoln Navigator vehicles built at Kentucky Truck Plant, Aug. 19, 2011 through Dec. 17, 2011.

Recall Alert: 2011-2012 Ford F-150 - PickupTrucks.com News
Quote:
affected F-150s are equipped with the 6R80 transmission and were built from Aug. 19, 2011, through March 9, 2012 at the Dearborn Truck Plant in Michigan and the Kansas City Assembly Plant in Missouri
|
Of course owners of affected vehicles - if they are registered with Ford - will get notified directly at the appropriate time in Ford's campaign, and Ford is the authoritative source of information.
This is specific to Ford's controls for the ZF 6HP26 transmission, which Ford builds under license and calls the 6R80.

With so many people traveling and pulling these great trailers, I hope we can all provide information to keep y'all safe. Yes, maybe you'll be notified (by snail-mail, etc.) but that may not be soon enough if you're miles from home.
