Forum Question

I have quick question what is the meaning of the blue box with a check mark in it just right of a thread title?

If you let your cursor hover over the box it says, "You are subscribed to this thread." Now what that means, I have no clue.

Edit: In looking over the ones I have that are checked, it appears that once you have made a comment in a thread, you are automatically subscribed to that thread--otherwise no blue box. I still don't know what that means.

It means you'll receive notifications (typically via email) every time someone responds. That's helpful if you've subscribed to a For Sale thread or a thread where you have asked a question... OR, don't login to read often (that's NOT me!)

I've never received e-mail notifications of anything other than if someone has sent me a personal message (PM). But maybe I opted out of that?

You can edit your options by clicking on "user CP" on the upper nav bar. If you have already elected to receive subscription notices, it's possible they are going to your spam folder...

How to unsubscribe from threads

For some reason I have numerous subscriptions, many of which I don't want to follow. Do I have to go into each individual subscription & unsubscribe? That would be tedious but under user cp there is no check box by the subscriptions to do a mass unsubscribe. The only way I have found to unsubscribe is do each individually. Plus, how did I get subscribed to all these in the first place?

Julie, I don't know if I have the same view as you. BUT, see if in the UserCP you can show a folder for your subscriptions
Name: Subscriptions-02.jpg
Views: 126
Size: 15.8 KB

and then delete the info in the folder.

It's a little different for us:

In User CP, go down the menu to "List Subscriptions", click it, then click the down triangle at the end in "Subscribed Threads in Folder: Subscriptions".

A popup will appear allowing "Folders, Subscriptions" selection.

Thanks but I don’t have any folders. Will keep trying but it would be nice to have a selection box by each subscription that allows for delete.

From the email notices for the few threads I am subscribed to, it looks like you can unsubscribe for some, or all, from links provided in the email notifications:

"Unsubscription information:
