Escape will keep you unit for 90 days, free and the warranty does not start until you pick up. BTW, the rally is 5/23-5/26 in Osoyoos, about 3 hours east from the factory. We plan on picking up our new E21 on 5/21 and heading over.

They have been known to change your date to one earlier if you request it. If you live far a way it is nice to get a date before the end of May, then pick it up just before the Escape Camp out. It is great to camp with 140 other Escape trailers!
Yes and if there is anything not right Reace will fix it or get it fixed while there. Great shakedown locale.

The rally sounds like a great idea. Looks like we might just be a few days outside of the 90 days, hopefully Escape will work with us a bit. I might be picking people minds a bit over the next few weeks on options. The decision to look at an Escape 21 started in May, but decision to buy happened in about 10 days!

I'm sure they will, also you need to pick your orientation day, which is the day you have your orientation at the factory and then they import the trailer across the border where you take possession. Try to get something that rally week as these spots are first come first to go.

Pick up in January

Chris and Patricia, perhaps we will see you guys in Sumas or Lynden? We pick up on Jan 14th and head south down I-5 from there. Naturally, we're expecting 55 degrees and sunshine daily for the entire drive until south of Redding where it will get even warmer and more sunny. Or not.

Actually, having lived west of the WA Cascades for 25 years, we fear no western WA or OR winter weather. Rain gear is advised, however. Hope those issues with the Dometic furnace have been resolved by the time we pick up. Some heat at night would be very nice.

I know for a fact, as he published his route, that Fred and Dora took the I-5 route. In the winter time this is probably the route least likely to have cold snowy weather, most likely is rain. It can be treacherous over the Siskiyou Pass, but there is a coastal alternative if the Pass looks bad.

We have driven that route in each of the past winters without any issues. There is the I-90/82/84/15 inland route, but likely to be much colder which makes a bit of a challenge unless your plumbing system is winterized, and who wants to deal with that on the road. Also I-90 east from Seattle can be very snowy indeed.

Do you have to reserve a space for the Escape rally in May 2019 or just show up?

If you go here, you will find instructions for a previous rally, as an example of the process:

Yes, you need to reserve a camping spot for your stay and also let Escape know you are attending as they provide food and goodies based upon the estimate. The place is very big, I bring a small bike to get around. If trailer less, there are motels right in town, but again let Escape know you plan on attending the food event.

One year there were several couples without campers who wanted to see the Escapes but failed to let ETI know they were attending, we ran out of food on Friday night before everyone had a chance to eat....please let them know your plans, so they can plan accordingly.

I was able to secure a delivery and orientation on Tuesday May 21st. Looks like we may attend the rally after all. I was thinking about heading to Banff and Glacier before heading back to Kentucky.

I got the same day, in the am. We can caravan our way over to Osoyoos, it is about a 3 hour drive from Chilliwack. BTW, we plan on visiting Glacier on the way out, that way we will not be restricted by towing on some of the narrow roads.

We headed west to Bakersfield, CA...picked up I5 and headed north into Oregon. Siskiyou Pass, between CA and OR was clear at the time.

While spending the night at Seven Feathers Casino in Canyonville, OR, we heard that Portland was iced in. So, we headed west and picked up 101 north.

When we got to Astoria, OR, we headed east again...picked up I5 all the way to Bellingham, then headed for Chilliwack.

The point is to be flexible, don’t stress, listen to the weather reports and download the state road condition apps.

Here are some helpful links that I used.

For California road conditions:
http://www.dot.ca.gov/cgi-bin/roadscell.cgi

For Oregon road conditions:
https://www.tripcheck.com/Pages/Road-Conditions

For Washington State road conditions:
http://www.wsdot.com/traffic/

For Canada road conditions:

When do you leave?

We don't have a firm timetable yet - production date is Dec. 28 but we will certainly wait until spring to make the trek.

But then you tornado alley to contend with, I think it would be cozy to get snowed in your new trailer on it's maiden return voyage.

It is not uncommon to have to wait 6 months for a new Escape, even with the new increased production.

Sounds good! I’m sure I will have more questions as the months go by.
