I did some research when mine cracked. Since my observations are all from postings on the internet, they must be true?

First, avoid the hoses with a metal shield, how do you know they are cracked.
Second, do not buy on price, but higher price is not a guarantee.
Third, most hoses, if not all, are made in China, try to find a domestic product.

I found a Flame King 12” from Home Depot, mail order only, ships from California for free.

I bought my replacement directly from MB Sturgis in St. Louis, MO. They are made right here is St. Louis.

We'll see how long they last.

Anyone looking for replacement hoses should contact the local welding equipment supplier(s) in their community.

They're a great source of quality and custom parts and fittings - and no doubt superior to parts replacement through Amazon...too often Chinese made junk.

Nah,
Just get a brand new Escape. Isn't it about time for a change, anyways? Your cracked propane hose has been leaking all that fuel. Your tanks are maybe empty. Isn't that your criteria?

He finally figured out that he can refill his propane tanks so not a reason anymore but maybe just maybe he can justify replacing his escape with a new one if his hoses are cracked mmmmmmm .

Sad to see the newer hoses being installed by ETI aren't all they're cracked up to be...

Replace hoses with copper?

Is there any reason not to replace cracked hoses with copper hoses (besides price). Our hose is cracked at a tight curve and will require dismantling because it comes off the refridge. While in the shop, we plan to have many/all hoses replaced with copper.

Escape 17

Thanks!

Cracks In More Places

Make sure you inspect all of your gas lines. I reported a kinked line a few months ago in a post, but I could not get an appointment to fix it until last week. Now the line is cracked and has to be replaced. Very Sloppy install by ETI, and my opinion dangerous. The pic is from what appears to be a gas-line distribution box under our 21C.

The entire line will have to be replaced at a total cost of over $500. At least it will be covered by warranty as I explained to ETI that I am not a warranty labor supplement. If you want to send me a part, fine, but I'll give it to a professional to install. If ETI didn't do it right initially, I explained, they can pay a professional to fix it professionally.

We bought our Escape new in 2018 and reported it last summer so I doubt ETI will pay for anything but inferior rubber hoses. Can we trust a new rubber hose to not crack again? There's a lot of stress on those curves.

My question is this - any caveats, warnings or issues with replacing rubber gas lines with copper on an Escape? Repair shops do it often on all model of campers but they don't see many Escapes here in the Northeast.

That line looks like it has been repaired?

Nope, never been repaired. We house our camper under a big carport and that side gets no sun during storage. Luckily that line vented to the outside and not the inside of the camper. Took us quite a while to figure out where the smell of gas was coming from each time we turned on propane from main tank. We couldn't get it repaired last summer before our trip and the refrigerator was a pain to keep cold (we mostly boondock). Now that it is spring, it going to RV repair shop today and they won't even look at it for 3 weeks. Nice, huh? Our plan is to replace rubber tubing exposed underneath with hard iron and copper to appliances.

Yikes!

Just checked the hoses of the propane tanks and yikes, they were badly cracked on our E21 2019 model. Had not looked at them in quite a while since we have not had to fill the propane tanks. I was installing Mopeka propane tank monitors and glad I did because it caused me to look at the hoses.
