Some Escape owners who tow with RAM trucks might be getting a new tow vehicle if they qualify for Jeep Chrysler's massive buy-back.

I hope this turns out to be a fair deal, and doesn't wind up costing owners money to switch.

It seems like no matter what we're driving these days we're just an email away from a recall, often for a serious defect. It's a good thing that these programs exist, especially for crucial issues like steering.

Am glad NHTSA is becoming more aggressive with recalls. Whether it is steering, software hacking, gas tanks, faulty ignition switches, defective airbag inflators or sticky gas pedals automakers must be more forthcoming with problems.

Nope, 2014 doesn't appear on the list, my older 2009 may have but it was traded in on the 2014.

I went to the FCA website ,clicked on recalls and entered my VIN #.
A list pops up showing all the recalls for your vehicle .I am one of the 1.4 million
that need the security system (UConnect) update.

Yes, I did mine last week, 1 day before the recall was announced, cost me $60. But they said I can request a refund. Now, our map upgrade is whole another issue.....

I Have been meaning to do the firmware update DIY style.

Jim, do you happen to know more details on the map update? Its worth the $$?

No info other than what we both have already, but the firm ware update also does some other things, there were 3 pages of things it did, but he could not let me have a copy, just read it.
