Hatch Size on new 19

What size is the opening of the outside underbed hatch in the new 19? Trying to figure out what size box will slide in there.

The opening that you get when you deduct the flange around the inside of the hatch is 8.5" x 22.5" but that's not true in the corners. The corners are rounded so you lose a little bit more. If someone has box size in mind, you can message me and I'll tell you if it fits. You could do a full 22" wide but then you wouldn't be able to do the full 8" high because it would catch in the corners.

I used to joke about the size of a southern yellow pine treated 4X4's After a couple seasons some of those rookies that worked for me would have them down to 2x2's being over zealous with the weed whacker.

Some of the older homes have the true dimensional lumber, my garage has 2x4 which measure 2x4.

The metric equivalent is 50x100, but just to keep us off balance, the industry here calls it a 38x89 which is the metric equivalent of 1.5x3.5.

That's a pretty good oak.
Heading for Emerson Manitoba Wednesday AM. Tuned up the 19 yesterday and Rita put a fine wash job on it in the late PM before the sun went down. She used my new ladder, geez I'm a nice guy.

Here's a diagram of the hatch dimensions. Its big enough to reach into but some of us might get stuck trying to crawl in.

12 -7/8" from floor to the lowest protruding frame member. The lowest point is centred right behind the interior doors. If you have narrow boxes you might miss that centre obstruction and gain an extra 3/4" in height.
