my favorite part of the shower in the escape is being able to step out of the shower into the warm clean Escape so I can dry off and get dressed.

Ditto! We also put up a privacy curtain in our 21 so we can step out of the shower to dress in case others (our sons) happen to be in the trailer at the table playing games. They grew up taking tent trailer showers - totally normal for us to take turns showering in the trailer. But if there are campground showers, the boys and hubby prefer to trek over to them while I enjoy the Escape Spa! -Bea

PS Reminds me of a campground we used to go to that had little frogs in their showers. Oh, what fun our little guys had, taking a shower with the frogs. It was their highlight! Great memories...

Those of you who use their showers, have you removed and sealed each screw in the band around the shower? Although not used, I removed and resealed each white screw in the band, maybe 2-3 dozen, to keep any water from getting behind the shower shell. Also the screws holding the sink as well as the bolts for the toilet. Water seems to find a way to escape in the Escape!

What's to stop your resealing job from leaking?
I have no plans to do this, with no evidence of leakage.

I don't understand the necessity of this at all. Even if you have a loose screw, it's only subject to water intrusion for the very brief time it's exposed during a shower. Perhaps if you point the shower head in that direction and hold it there for thirty minutes, maybe then a thimble-full of water will get behind the shower enclosure.

When people say they don't run out of water or fill their grey tank I wish they would tell how many days they can stay before heading to the dump station. We were at Cottonwood Campground at Big Bend National Park for 10 nights a year ago, took sponge baths every night, and never filled they gray. There are NO public showers at Cottonwood. I believe we could have stayed a few more days too.

Enjoy,

Perry

We prefer not to use the public campground showers to our setup, and can’t remember last time we used the public ones.
Sorry, but I'm a newbie (actually haven't even picked up my new 5.0 yet). What the heck is an accumulator tank?

Easiest way to answer: https://amzn.to/2ImWOeD
Nice upgrade if one boondocks without utilities to smooth out onboard water pump. Also, is supposed to help extend pump life.

OK, so that's a dope-slap for me. Thanks, Greg. I've got one on my Amazon shopping list. Any chance you could share a pic of your install?

Hi Greg going to butt in here if ok ? Yes the accumulator tank is well worth it and I also added the 3 foot silencing hoses and this 4 pump is been the longest one we have had . Going to say that quietly . We were going through pumps less then a year before . Pat

My wife and I have been living in our 5.0TA for about a month now as we travel around the southwestern states - off for a week in New Orleans tomorrow and then onward to northern Florida. We do not use our washroom for showering or solid wastes. We always make sure that the campgrounds we book have nice bathroom facilities or we don't use them - simple planning ahead. We have never been disappointed yet. We also did a bit of boondocking - in that case we do use the toilet full time; as for showering we perfer sponge bathing - much simpler and no cleanup or wipe downs necessary and way less water use.

Also forgot to mention that there is one reason that we love having that small sink in the washroom; we are both ok with washing our hands or faces in the kitchen sink but when it comes to brushing our teeth and spitting that goes with it - well, that doesn't seem like the right thing to do in the kitchen sink so all oral hygiene happens in the bathroom.

I take our Mr Buddy heater to the shower, turn it on max in the changing area before entering the shower, and when I get out the shower is nice and toasty.

Enjoy,

Perry
