I do a lot of back packing in the Rockies,, Selkirks and Bugaboos. We often stay in a self catered Alpine Club of Canada Hut. Here is the Fairy Meadows hut as we made our approach. The huts are well equipped with sleeping mats, all the cooking utensils you can think of and wood for the stove. All you need to do is bring your food, sleeping bag, clothes and of course a wee drop of wine

Is one of your images from a drone? I hope so.

I've had horrific times, and stunningly wonderful times on that big, old, Greatest of Great Lakes.
I just got too old, too soon, to re-try those adventures again. Now...it's an Escape. 15 years or more ago, I said to my wife that our tenting days were done. I guess I lied. I've downsized from 4 tents to 1. Sad. But....I have to go with the flow of life.

You'll see, likely, someday. OH! You have...with an Escape!

Yes, the first was shot with a drone.

It's always an adventure to travel on Lake Superior. Plans have to be flexible, I've been tied to a campsite when the lake was too rough, or had legs into a wind so strong we couldn't make any headway. Once this guy (see photo) seemed to come looking for us after we pulled into a harbor from a fairly long open water crossing. I guess he saw us on radar and wanted to make sure we were OK.

Backcountry trips take a lot of planning, a lot of packing, and a lot of effort. I still love them, but I also love my Escape for a much more relaxed way to travel and see the world. They each have their place.

One downside to camping in a tent, is drying everything out after a good rain, which happened to us on a recent back packing trip

Ask, and ye shall receive.

Ten or so years ago, before a Casita & an Escape, my mode of recreational travel was a kayak. 1st image is a 21 foot wood kayak I'd built. Sweet boat, and I am heading over solo to Grand Island, U.P. Michigan, near Munising, on Lake Superior. 2nd shot: Same trip, and my 1st mate & I are heading off for an evening paddle, leaving behind Lefty, our critter. No room for him in the kayak, that's for certain. Lefty....left behind!

Stuff has changed. We were up that way this summer, and with climate change they're having algae blooms in Lake Superior, with warmer lake water. Saw them, and never saw any hint of one before. Sad. Something like 28 invasive species in the lake now....another sad story.

I ain't done

Pic of a Fort Pickens campground acquaintance in the bow, off of Pensacola, FL , Santa Rosa Sound, some winters ago. I kept this 37 year old tandem kayak...versatile vessel, and paddled it locally again a week ago.

It's like I said....my previous RV's.

This is my son and daughter as they were cycling across Canada 3 years ago. When I was 17 a friend and I cycled from Vancouver to Montreal. My kids asked me if I wanted to join them in Montreal and cycle to St. Johns Newfoundland, which I readily agreed to. So here was one of campsites in Quebec.

(I do admit to cheating though. I told them I was going to draft behind one of them for virtually the whole way. I figured I was three times older than my youngest, so cheating is allowed)
