I would say with the 5.0, both. Since the nose of the trailer is riding right on top of the RAS suspension, I’m sure it has an impact on the trailer. Of course I have not done any empirical testing of this theory but based on contents shifting in the trailer, nothing was out of place after that long gravel road taken at speed.

Well, it is noticeable when some critter decides to chew on it and the original whitish-yellow color shows through the rest of the foam, which has been spray painted black.

Said critter didn't chew that much off and I've never gotten around to spray painting it as I keep forgetting about it. So, yeah, not an issue. I just thought it was funny that it happened. I know where it happened and I know it was my friend's dog or cat.

Crawled underneath my Escape this morning and 4 cans of rubberized undercoating later , I had about 50% of the foam coated . So back to the store for 4 more spray cans
At my age you would think I would know better and buy double what the manufacturer tells you to buy .

Undercoating may be packaged to shoot up, unlike spray paint.

Carpet

I just bought a couple of nice mats at Costco, of course I live on the west coast but I do drive through Washington and Oregon to Southern Cali in the winter.

No problems.
