I just bought a used 2013 19. Read they weight less than new 19.

I just closed on a 2013 19, which is the older model. I don't know what year they changed the whole mold shape. Squared off more, different door, etc. I think I read in here they weight less. Does any one know what the base weight was back then vs then newer model?

Escape 19 probably had the most significant weight gain with Gen2. A recent post from a Gen2 19 owner suggested a wet weight of 4600#, whereas a Gen1 19 with the 3" frame is significantly less. See the following spreadsheet.

The transition of all models was in 2016.

your curb weight with a full water tank but empty sewer, should be shown on the weight plate on the front left side, along with your GWR. your effective payload is the GWR - curbweight.

Interesting list. There doesn't seem to be a year listed for them. There is a grouping around one rate area, & then a heavier one. Big difference in 5.0 like one is the older single axle & then double.

But, looks like I'll have to go read it on the side plaque............left at former owners, until I deal with moving my 96 yr old Father into Assisted living from Independent. I do know it has the 4" frame.

Are there photos somewhere that show the difference between the two generations of E19s?

Well, this is mine new to me. It is older style, but with 4" frame. build 6/2013. They were a little more "rounded", the door curved, awning arms curved because of the curved sidewalls(fast clue). And remolded bathroom for medicine cabinet.

Photos were sent to me. I picked the 3/4 views to show the curve. & one inside to show the door curve. I'll have to look for photos of new model

I keep an updated version of the Trailer Weights in the Real World spreadsheet (with Frederick's permission) at my website. It can be sorted by make, size, etc, and average weights are in a table below.

I don’t know the difference in weight between 19 vs 19, but I’ll tell you my 2020 19 is way way heavier than my 2007 17B.

Unfortunately there was a long delay with the 5.0TA mould, thus my need for a temp trailer in 2016, and it was started late 2016. I was one of the first with one and got it late Jan 2017. Any Gen 2 5.0TA is dated as a 2017.

Not absolutely positive, but maybe one of the first 4 or 5 was labelled 2016?

Yes, that's mostly weight gain from the whole 2nd axle, a lot of steel & all an axle. Why the weight gain from 19 vs 21 is not that big of jump. It's only a tiny bit more steel & fiberglass, etc. Why I bit the bullet & bought 6 cly PreRunner vs trying to do the rig with 4 cly & 17b. I've pulled double axle all my life, & with 3 big dogs, didn't want to "outgrow" it.

It looks like you snagged the beauty that was posted in Illinois. The classic 19's are a great trailer and I'm sure you will enjoy it. Best of luck with it and enjoy.

Yes! It was 800 miles away, but only 3 hrs away from my Brother & Father(who I haven't seen for 2 1/2 yrs because of COVID!). I'm fine with older, a bit lighter. It IS SUPER well cared for, like my 2014 PreRunner.

I don't know. I just meant that building of the new generation of all models started in 2016... in the case of the 5.0TA, the very end of the year (it was the last model to transition).
