Head Bumper. I cut a slice out of a orange pool noodle and used a couple pieces of velcro to attach it to the frame. Works great! Before long I can probably take it down. It's been a while now since I've hit my head.

Also please note the 2 Camco screen door bars, one mounted high and one just below the latch. I saw these on the Escape Facebook site and we love them for two towel hangers. The upper one also can act as a curtain rod to block the window since I removed the plastic film from the door glass. I usually like to be able to see out the door glass, but every one in a while we need privacy so can hang a towel on the upper bar to act as a curtain.

Only problem is I hit my head on the door frame because I'm not looking up so I'm not sure it will help.

I'm thinking about getting one of these ball cap style hard hats, might save some head knocks. https://www.amazon.com/Safety-Baseba...2642139&sr=8-8

I seem to hit my head when loading up for a trip and making lots of trips in and out of the camper. And it is always on the way out, I think one of these hats would work for that.
After seeing your comment this morning I followed the link into Amazon and got engrossed looking for a picture of a duck. Still looking, I guess I’ll have something to do after each day’s drive. It must be the perfect picture and not too big.

My head hurt for a week after the last time I banged it a couple times in the same weekend.

Those are great ideas. I recently bought one of those bars, and was thinking about doing what you did with the upper bar for the same reason. Now that I’ve seen yours, I’m going to get the second bar for sure.

Was installing the bars difficult? Did you pre-drill the holes for the mounting screws? Thanks!

Somewhere in Modifications to Eggscape is exactly how I built a padded board that fits over the door to make it softer when the head hits. It’s forms a shelf and is now our library.

Was it difficult to remove the film on the door? Residue, etc? Like the towel bar idea.

At 5'-8" and 5'- 1" we might safe from the head knockin'. Crossing our fingers.

Alcohol, on more than one occasion.
5'8" here and shrinking, no scars yet but definite contact on a couple occasions!

No, just peel it off. No residue.

Corner of range hood 2 days ago...

My wife had heard the words before but they were definitely more swearish than english.

And I'm a seasoned pro. Here's a cabinet in our laundry room at home.

Mounting the Camco towel bars was a pretty simple job, just take you time to get it straigtht. Yes, I did pre drill the holes. I didn't want to tear anything up and it's more likely I'll get the screws where they need to be.

The film pulls off easily. You might have to use a citrus solvent to clean off the adhesive residue. I like the clear glass.

Someone somewhere suggested hanging fringe trim on the door frame. It will draw attention to remind you to be careful but is soft enough to pass through.

I have hit the door a few times but not many, and that is it in 13 years of Escape ownership. I hit my head so often while working on the house, this situation really pales. I just duck, but not hard as I am just a smidge under 6'. I am getting old, but still capable of learning......sometimes.

Hi: Carmel Clown... I'm lucky that I'm now 1/2" shorter and can pass through without a bump... knock on wood. Alf

I cut a swimming pool noodle down the middle and slid the pieces over the cabinet edges. Problem solved.

Got these and they work great. Corners on the passenger overhead cabinet corner and on corner of range hood. Longer strips above entry door and over door inside bathroom. I'm tall and these have been a head saver :-)

Three words: Bumper Edge Guard

Within a week after picking up our new 19', I'd accumulated several painful lumps on my head from that corner. Bumper edge guards aka baby bumpers solved the problem. No bumps in over two years.
