It's been a about 1 1/2 years - so here goes..
Hey.. If you enjoy the forum and would like to contribute some 'moolah' to keep it going, that would be great . Just use the donations tab on the toolbar.. or if you can remember to use our Amazon link when you order your next book or whatever..every little bit counts.
No pressure.. no ads.. just the forum.. Hey sounds like a commercial!

OK, call me crazy (You're crazy!), no, wait a minute, listen to this.
Escape pays a "finders fee" to owners who show their trailers to people who subsequently buy one. Since I, and many others, have bought their trailers based only on what is posted in the Escape Travel Forum, is the forum entitled to a finders fee?

And any profits split up by the number of posts!!!!!! : - )
I figure it this way, throwing a few bucks into the forum is a lot of cheap fun!

Jeff - I've made several Amazon purchases over the past two months. I know at least a few of those times that I remembered to use the link via the Escape forum. I was wondering if you can confirm whether or not you are getting/receiving any $ for this as was intended. It dawned on me that you have no way of knowing when anyone makes an amazon purchase to be on the look out to ensure that they (amazon) are forwarding the forum (aka you) any of the proceeds.

Re: It's been a about 1 1/2 years - so here goes..
First of all thanks for using the Amazon link as we do get credit. When we shop at Amazon, we definitely use the link as well and pay using our Amex Card, so we the cash back that way as well.
I do get a report from Amazon every quarter when we get a payment/settlement. I don't know who purchases from the report, but I can see what people order.
The earnings YTD this year as of today:
18 items ordered generating $19.22 advertising money/fees for the forum.. it's not a huge amount, but it basically goes to whatever software packages I experiment with. Like when we were doing the shows.. which by the way I'm waiting for T&R as we were communicating earlier about doing a show after they moved and got settled in.. so we should be seeing something soon on that front.. I'm looking forward to doing it again..
Anyway, thanks for your support and keeping the economy moving!!

Not to mention the hardware, and maintaining the domain name.
The economics of the web really make me wonder how my employer can continue to pay me as they transition from newsprint to the web. Seems like Google get most of the revenue, by providing material they didn't pay to create.
Maybe I should have taken early retirement.
