Donna, yes we got the fill piece 12" and the rear bench is 28" makes up as a 40" inch twin
We have a custom access door under the rear bench that stores the fill piece. We are very happy with this set up, separate beds also means no climbing over each other to use the bathroom.

Can anyone provide info on the optional heat strip for the A/C. Does the AC fan need to run, if so it's louder than the furnace.

We have one in the 19 and you are correct . The fan in the ac unit is
Much louder than the furnace . If your really cold
You will learn to love the sound of the furnace . It only took a short while
For us to get used to it . The ac is a different story, that's loud.

I think everyone here are much better sleepers than us. I know there is probably another thread on this but is it safe to use one of those small ceramic heaters with the windows cracked a bit? They are pretty quiet.
I seem to recall during the orientation, Rhonda turned on the furnace and it didn't seem that loud, but when we used it - much louder, I was hoping there was a high and low setting for the fan, couldn't find one.

I am a very light sleeper and I use those soft foam earplugs every night for sleeping- I don't hear the furnace noise...

if we are hooked up to a current bush, we will use a pelonis cube heater. As far as I know, it is safe. It is quieter than the furnace, and uses the campground's electricity as opposed to your propane.

I agree. If warmth and quiet are your goal, you can't beat the electric cube heater. But if all you want to do is take the chill out of the air in the morning, the ac strip is perfect. You sleep with the cube heater and wake up with the ac strip. The fan in the air conditioner isn't any louder than the furnace.

I sleep with my head below the thermostat.
I wake up when it clicks on, and lay there waiting for the furnace to do its thing. Haven't gotten used to it yet.

Have you thought about getting a digital thermostat? I don't recall hearing the original thermostat, but we replaced with a $20.00 digital one and it seems to have less temperature swing to it

Yes, in my 19 and in my 21……..both are working great…...

Where did you install it on the 19? The only place I could put it would be on the passenger side under the bench as we keep the front dinette made up as a bed. Would have to work out how to power there, shouldn't be a problem as there is an outlet above on the bulkhead.

I was really worried about the noise from the furnace because of what people had written. But our experience has been that it isn't so bad. We reach up like Baglo said, turn it on, the trailer heats up and we turn it off. However the thermostat itself is a problem. It sticks and we always feel like we're going to break it. We plan to replace it.
