Today, I'm dropping a holiday card in the mail to Jim and Noelia. Something uplifting for the season and positive for 2021. They probably received a flood of cards a month or so ago. Time for a new batch

Something I have in common with Noelia then. It has always been a favorite of mine too. Lisa makes a killer batch, something often requested for family dinners.

Mac n cheese is a comfort food, indeed.

Good friends are always a blessing, and more so in times of challenge.

Sending prayers and well wishes to Jim and Noelia. So glad you're dropping off Noelia's favorite dish. This is such a crazy year for them.

We heard from Noelia ( this morning ) that Jim had been trying to eat breakfast, a hopeful sign !! It is awesome that so many carrying people are sending love and prayers.

For those who have not met Jim (cpaharley), here is a photo that I found of him. Sometimes, it’s nice to place a face to a name.

Thank you, Fred. Like many have expressed, we never met Jim but benefitted from his helpful advice. Wishing him and his family continued strength and hope.

Thanks, Fred. I have not yet had the pleasure, so it's nice to put a face to name.

Thank you Fred! A very nice picture! Particularly helpful for those who have not met Jim in person.

I have never met Jim but have enjoyed his warm welcome and advice. We are keeping our fingers crossed for Jim and really hoping he pulls through this latest challenge.

I follow this thread closely to hear about developments with Jim. So, please keep the updates coming...

Good picture, Fred. The only photo I have of Jim I have is of him standing by one of tables at the last Escape rally. We all know Jim loved those marathon drives from Pennsylvania to Osoyoos, and he loved to socialize with other owners. The last day of the rally I went to his trailer because I wanted to chat with him, but Noelia told me he was visiting Iowa Dave down by the lakefront. I walked down there but the weather was kind of lousy and I never spotted Dave’s trailer. Early the next morning, Jim pulled out. This past summer, we were going to meet up for a cookout near Gettysburg, but I had to cancel my travel plans due to COVID. I hope Jim pulls through this and we get another chance.

My photo is not as good as yours.

Hi Carl
Here’s a photo of Jim from the Wine Escape in 2018 I think. He could not wait to bring treasures to the free tarp. Most folks wanted the tarp to open early, Jim wanted to bring stuff over the night before. Jim is a shopper of the first magnitude. As he was taking stuff out of his bag and box he was commenting. “Used this once” “Bought this one and when I went to put it away I found another one I already had.” “I bought this when I had the Lance but don’t need it with the Escape.” One thing he couldn’t buy and so I gave him, was Iowa vegetables. Peppers, squash, Zucchini( also a squash) and Garlic. Anything that would travel well. He made me promise not to throw away any of his stuff that didn’t go off the tarp to a new home had to go home with me for the next tarp at the next rally.
The second picture I took for Jim. It’s the Mona Lisa for food lovers like Jim. Bulls Horns, garlic and jalapeños.
Looking forward to camping with you and Jim again.

You should see his basement. He's got one of everything. The Grand Tour was exhausting. Took about an hour and 3 beers. Then, also I have been *fortunate* to be sucked into a couple of mini tours too.

Jim gave us a tour of his 21 at his home. Since we had our Casita in tow, he met us at a shopping center and gave us a ride to his home. I was sold in the first five minutes. He helped us during our ordering process by answering many questions. Our 21 ended up being “just like Jim Norman’s” with minor exceptions. First class guy. Thoughts and prayers to him and his family.

Donna and I drove over to York in @2014. (Goodness does time fly). We didn't have the disposable cash to spring for one back then. That made for a depressing drive back to Lancaster. Honestly looking back I don't think we would have purchased an Escape if it hadn't been for Jim showing us his.

The other just as important part of the equation was the ordering process as you mentioned. We patterned ours after his "with minor exceptions". He was a huge help during that phase.

We received Christmas greetings from Noelia in which she says that they hope to get Jim home from rehab early in Jan. Richard (telescopist) may have more news to share.
