How many years of use could one reasonably expect to get out of an Escape trailer.
Assuming proper and routine maintenance.

I would bet 50 plus. My daughter uses a now 41 year old Trillium, one of the predecessors of the modem day moulded fibreglass trailer.

Wonder what the number would be comparing stored under cover vs out in the elements.

The roof on mine seems to take a beating as compared to the sides. Waxing the roof of a 5.0TA isn't easy.

Hi: Cents... Your question depends on how old you are now? Here's a pic I snapped on a trip with our previous 2007 5.0 beside a 1970's Trillium. If Escape hadn't come along with the 5.0TA we'd still have it. Alf

Now there's a new definition of decadence. A boler with two propane tanks. Our daughter and her husband have a 1974 boler, ( one tank) they'll be in Winnipeg next summer with hundreds of other bolers at the 50th anniversary rally. Like a lot of things, regular maintenance, using the unit as intended, and reasonable expectations greatly extends the lifespan. It's heartening to see the old ones of various manufacture at a rally in good condition and serving a proud owner.

My Campster was built in 1970- 47 this year, no fiberglass cracks, no leaks. Stove still works (original). Icebox (original.) Coleman gas lamp- does not work anymore. Jack worked until I removed it since I'd added a wheel jack. I think a lot of the specifics will depend on how and where it is kept (ozone does a number on plastics as does sun) and whether today's components are better or worse than 40-50 years ago.

And that trailer is just getting broken in! I've been in it a good part of the afternoon getting it ready for its first trip of its 11th camping season in a couple of weeks. Expect to get another thirty years out of it, well maybe not us, would be really lucky to live another thirty years

I thought I would throw that question out there to see what kind of responses it would elicit. I am 57 and going to buy my five trailer and it will be a FG. I have always maintained anything I have ever bought, the next trailer will not be any different. I do want to get my moneys worth. The Escape will last a very long time.

Not to throw mud at Scamp, remember though that their shell is not completely fibreglass, but that they have plywood underneath.

like all things it depends on how much you use it...in the case of a trailer what percentage of the year will it be used versus stored....many say it will last many years but without saying how much it's used per year versus stored and how it was stored the lifespan may not be as wow!.......FG does seem to last with less costly overall maintenance to the exterior it seems versus other alternatives, which is attractive to this camper. The appliances are pretty similar in most trailers within a market segment, so that's appears to be a roll of the dice.
getting your money's worth is for each camper to determine...in the FG arena it seems an Oliver and a Bigfoot is getting your moneys worth if a really high build quality is important...it seems there is a hole in the FG market for a medium priced FG with tandem axles and with the exchange rate as it is, Escape occupies that space well....if 1:1 exchange in the future it may be different after the price increases this last year.
just an opinion which means nothing in the great scheme of things.

It's fun to peruse the sold units on Fiberglass RV. Many old Bolers, Trilliums and Scamps still in nice shape. Some obviously restored but just the fact that they still have a solid foundation and it is worth putting the time and money into them is saying something.

Of course we have the quick connect. Need it for the BBQ and for the Firebowl. Also have the propane oven if I wanted to turn it on and stick my head in it. Probably won't need any of that though, as where I am going, there will be plenty of fire already without having to bring my own.
