Question Maple interior history

I didn't 'discover' Escape Trailers until late 2019 and my perhaps poor recall is that trailers were shown with an available 'maple' interior, solid upper cabinet door panels.

Browsing Escape History i read that in 2019 "We launched a new Maple interior ...".

Were all trailers prior to sometime in 2019 'oak', or is that a reference to the change to translucent upper cabinet door panels with the 'maple' interior, or .... ?

Has the color / pattern of the 'oak' or 'maple' (vinyl faux woodgrain) paneling changed over the years?

Just color me curious, it's certainly of no matter of great consequence

All interiors 2018 and before were the oak and there was one counter top, cloth and floor. If you paid extra there was a selection of counter tops and you could ship in your cloth and flooring. That is ruffly how it was.

With 2019 and on, came new management, the 21 NE, and lots of stock flooring, cloth and counter tops.

And personally the stock fabric (Champaign) and stock flooring were awful. All the choices today are for the better.

I liked the stock as opposed to spending extra on picking your own.

I could have lived with all of it to have an Escape, but the floor and formica were way too dark for me. Lucky me, I could choose my own.

To the best of our knowledge, all the 'Oak' interiors (past and present) come with the solid wood upper cabinets and the paneling has remained the same. From the first time they launched the 'Maple' interior (and now with the new white 'Contemporary' interior), the upper cabinet doors come with the frosted acrylic inserts and the paneling is much lighter (than the oak) to match the maple wood cabinets.

We were one of the first to be offered the Maple interior in Dec 2018 when we were working on our build sheet, but we had already bought all our custom fabric based on the Oak interior and we preferred the solid upper cabinet doors so we decided to keep the Oak. But we were glad to see the company launching new standard options for others. Can't wait to see pictures of the new white Contemporary interior soon!

Yesterday I watched the ETI video on the new standard fabrics and in it they mentioned the reason they went with that one 'Champagne' fabric for so long. It was because it was so incredibly durable - one of the best performers on the stress tests. I got the feeling people grew tried of the design and solo option, but now I understand why Escape preferred it all those years. But glad to see more standard options now....and custom formica, laminate, and fabric is still an option, too. Thanks Escape! -Bea

yup

We like the Maple on our 2019 E21..goes well w the custom neutral fabric and the countertops. We really like the larger custom sink too.and the added wardrobe cabinet [atop where that low cabinet is std on the front driver side]..see pix here: https://www.escapeforum.org/forums/f...-8031-129.html.

You will note we had them move the MW to UNDER the stove, and move the big wardrobe up top, so that both wardrobes are at the top..Holly likes symmetry(LOL)
