Minor fix questions on my trailer

So we just bought a 2013 15 b.

Now that we have kicked the tire a couple weeks and taken some short trips. We are trying to address some little issues.

First on front of trailer , center of storage box there is a 1 inch metal plate. I notice when the box lid is raised this little plate barley rubs the lid.
Seem like there should be a little rubber cushion there.

Any one tell me what’s missing here?

#2 Issue

One of my rear stabilizers on passenger side won’t come down the last 6 inches. I have been putting four blocks under it and that works. But if someone has a fix, I would like to here it.
I crawled under and checked it out , but still scratching my head. No problem with other three.

They are welded on.

Did you try lubricating it with triflo?

No wasn’t sure if I should use grease or another lubricant. Seems like grease would collect dirt so I held off till I heard some ideas.

Are you sure that’s not just an adhesive backed cable tie mount? If it is just remove it.

Iowa dave suggested triflo, and it worked great on my stabilizers. I don’t believe it will attract dirt like grease.

I don't know if it is any better or worse, but I've been using bicycle chain lubricant on mine for years & it seems to work well.

I carry a can of aerosol dry silicone lube. Occasionally I spray nearly anything on the exterior that moves... the stabilizers, manual awning arms, door hinges, etc. Works for me.

I will track down the triflo over the weekend and add it to my tool kit.

Thank you all.

Well took another look at this issue on my way out the door to work.

It appears to have some sort of adhesive pad around it edges. I can see fiberglass through the hole in it. It is really on there good. Almost afraid to cause another problem by removing it. Maybe hair dryer is the answer? Warm it some.

Or leave it and put some kind of bumper pad over it?

I used a lot of those in communication installs, the pix is a little low resolution, but it looks like what I used to use. See if a cable tie fits in the channel. Low heat may be your friend

A couple years ago I put on a solar rechargeable light above the front box. It worked great for 18 months or so, it went on with an adhesive pad. Then the solar cell chipped and cracked. Absolutely could not pull the body off the trailer. Tried dental floss as a way to cut the adhesive pad to the plastic body, dental floss just was torn. Recently a budding musician was playing his guitar next to our trailer. Yes, he had some some broken thin guitar strings. The guitar string cut through the adhesive pad in about a minute. I was then able to rub the pad remnants and roll it up to remove it. Then bug and tar remover removed the last of the adhesive residue

Yep

Spot on.
It was adhesive backed . We got the plastic part off and spent about 20 minutes getting the glue off with goof off.

Cant tell it was there.

Again spot on.

I picked up Triflow on the way home from work. Had the wife crank the stabilizer up and down while I sprayed it. Freed it right up. SoI treated all the stabilizers.

All good

Thank you.

Good tip especially for awning. I picked up a can of that too.

So both my issues resolved with everyone’s help.

Now on to my 3 rd fix.

My power cord door broke. Have a Amazon link for a new one. Look straight forward replacement.

Any tips while I wait for part?

Suggested sealer or chalk?
