well, he's a lot closer to the coast than Donna, but Donna's enthusiastic cheering for all things Escape can be heard as far away as here in So. Cal, so count her in to the site team. Thanks, Donna.

Glenn is our Northern Canadian connection, so we have N/S/E covered, all we need is a southern connection?

It's my understanding that after the American revolution a concerted effort was made the change the spelling of many words to create a distinction between American English and English English. Here in Canada we broke away peacefully and kept the English spelling.
That goes for a lot of words. We should all know since we all have fibreglass trailers even though we measure them by the foot rather than metre. Just minor issues amongst neighbours.

We broke away peacefully or did England let us go peacefully?

Excuse me but someone who lives in Bellingham lives in the Pacific Northwest. Here we live in the Canadian Southwest

Well I decided to give up my palatial cabana for a day and go for a top down drive up the Sea-to-Sky highway. First to check out how many people are using the Porteau Provincial Park in "winter". More than I expected, mixture of tenters and RV's but most of the prime waterside sites were available. Hope to head up there next week. Secondly, so many people are using this s-n-o-w word that I was curious to see what it looked like. So I killed 2 birds with one stone and tried out the new Sea-to-Sky gondola. Sitting in the dining room at the top looking over at Sky Pilot and Co-pilot moutains and there it is, snow. Not really surprising for 6800'.

While admiring the white stuff I had a really nice Angus beef Irish stew because there wasn't any poutine on the menu. On the way down I'm looking out over Howe Sound, not Burrard Inlet.

Ron

Had to weigh in on the moderator discussion. One of the reasons we chose an Escape was this forum. I was so impressed that it included people with a variety of backgrounds, political/religious leanings etc, yet was always respectful and civil. These are the people I want to chat with online and camp with at rallies. Most online forums deteriorate to mean spirited, negative comments so quickly but not this one. So I want to thank the moderators that do a great job leading by example and keeping things in line as well as the participants who follow their lead. Thank you!!!

I will take some of the Single Malt, but no ice please! One should never chill a malt.

Or, I would have one of the many nice blends too. There are a few, though my preference is definitely a Single Malt, and especially those from the Isle of Islay.

Islay whiskeys are a little too 'peaty' for my taste, but like you, I love a good scotch. No ice.

I think we've found the perfect thread for posting off topic.
BTW, scotch triggers my gag reflex so it's a perfect pairing with poutine.

How do these posts get so far off topic? I checked in to see what nice or nasty things they are saying about our moderators and the subject is on booze. Loren
