Most expensive Campsite ever

The Pacific Airshow is coming back to Huntington Beach California Oct.1-3
There is a campground, on the sand, just south of the Huntington Beach Pier. I checked it out for the weekend. The package includes 4 nights oceanfront camping at Sunset Vista Campground, 1 reserved campsite with water and 30 or 50 amp service and access to a dump station, one additional vehicle ( cannot be another RV ), 10 general admission tickets each day of the show, 1 holding tank pump out. There are 46 sites and six are still available. What is the price for this fabulous experience $ 2,800 yes that is correct $ 2,800 that figures out to $ 700 a day. I decided to just go for a day and ride my bike.

At that price they should provide you a trailer and also a menu with food and drinks delivered for the duration of the stay.

How much caviar and champagne comes with it? Maid service, too?

air show

Our 5.0 would be very crowded if we had 8 friends in there. Besides we have been to a lot of air shows 50 years ago and Nancy lost interest when a doctor in a T-6 missed a pylon and went down hard.

Talking saving money

There is a state campgrounds within a quarter-mile aware you would be camping. I think they charge 35 a day.

Water and 30+ amp service?

We almost never need either, and are usually glad of it. Serviced campsites are often unavailable, whereas unserviced is no problem. But we don't have AC. I may yet regret the lack of AC given the current trends, but so far we have been happy without it.

And here I thought the ~$60 or so per night near Sisters Oregon was predatory.

Mind you that ten general admission tickets for three days runs $750, if they're the cheap $25/day/person ones. Still an expensive stay, but that's supply and demand and there's no boondocking for 50+ miles. (Urban area.)

As for the state park someone pointed out - that's certainly sold out every day of every week. You haven't a prayer when there's an air show or surf competition in the city.

Think I'll watch the air show from off shore in my boat. Oh, wait, -- I don't have a boat.

Here I thought Fort Wilderness at Disney was pricey.
