Oh shoot--this is the name we were thinking of. My father was an Air Force pilot and with the whole Escape thing---Just now seeing this post, "Flight Risk" is a great name. Respectfully, we'll try to come up something else.

Does this mean great minds....?

I like it, but you should consider a trip to the eastern US at least once. I grew up in the intermountain west and thought that was it. But, there are plenty of beautiful places to the east. Different, but beautiful nonetheless. I will never forget the first time I drove the Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park for example. Just gorgeous.

The Appalachian Mountain range never disappoints--from Georgia to Maine! And that's not just because this is our place of origin

You're right. Have lived in AUS, DK, CA, NY, AL, IL(not far from Chanute AFB), FLA now CA. Love the Smoky Mountains especially. We may go out there, but there is so much we haven't seen out West still.

Stone Mountain a great place as is the Cyclorama- a wonderful Civil War Museum where you can't tell where the tracks meet the canvas.
Roots to Blakley.

I stand corrected! You've "been there, done that" clearly. By the way, my Mom runs an RV park in Rantoul that used to be the MWR campground when it was Chanute AFB. Its called Prairie Pines.

Now can you tell us where you've lived in actual words?

With all the talk this morning about the NorBeaster bearing down on the New England area, makes me think that a good winter name for an escape would be "Heat seeker". especially for those who head south for the winter. I follow a fellow who calls himself the prairie monk (David Monk) he's done a lot of prairie restoration and preservation work around Rantoul. There's a nice state park between Bloomington and Champaign at Roy Illinois called Moraine View state park. Nice sites, good camp hosts, not crowded during the week, good fishing and an easy to use dump station. Good little grocery store nearby too.

In my opinion Vermont during peak foliage is one of the most beautiful sights to behold!

It most indeed is! The White Mountains aren't too shabby, either.

We have dear friends from Vermont, Ian and Jenny, who were the first ones to introduce us to the wonderful world of Escape trailers. Several members of our southeastern group of campers (Egg, Scamp, Casita) were drawn by the lure of the Escapes and we started calling it the Vermont Virus. The virus spread to 4 or 5 households and we are the latest to be happily afflicted!

Heard an economist predict a 75 cent Canadian dollar today, so it could become an epidemic.

I'll be happy to spread the disease Glenn.

ETI got our check today and the conversion rate was around 78 cents - so that isn't too far off.

Now that's a double hurt, when I sent my checks they averaged about 85 cents on the dollar. Today I took the second "hurt" when I paid the Washington State sales tax on "Escaping Reality".

gbaglo--on the conversion rate--very little bit helps. But we are forever happy to spread the Escape bug, even though we have yet to pick ours up!

So a $35,000 cn Escape will only cost you $27,300 us- what a deal. They have to be really thinking about raising their prices for US customers or is that allowable?

My math was off Jim. It's about 80 cents - not 78. Still, excellent for US buyers.

I would expect that they would have to raise prices for all at some point since, as far as I know, the fridge, stove, furnace, water heater, etc. etc. are all imported from the US and paid for in US dollars.

My first check landed a couple of weeks ago, and my second and final should land at ETI at the end of this week. I'm gonna be happy even if I was a week or so early on the first one. The no sales tax and relatively low registration here in Oregon helps ease the pain.
