New 21 Thoughts
So in keeping with others that have given their experiences/impressions of their new Escape I wanted to give a brief update on our 21 that we picked up on June 21st. For those that may not be aware we previously had a 2012 19 that served us very well. But on our last extended trip last summer we encountered some floor plan issues (bed layout in particular) that prompted us to move to the 21.
Overall we are extremely pleased with the 21. Although on 2 ft (ish) bigger it is so much more trailer than the 19. I really like the additional amount of storage, longer counter space and bed layout. The bath seems a bit smaller but still very usable. So below are some of our likes/dislikes:
Likes
Water pump is very quiet (Shurflo 4008RV Revolution)
Overall feel and layout
Stove vent fan is quiet
Fridge working great so far*
Storage is great
Hepvo valve installed in bath drain pipe
Standard flooring works good for us and our color scheme
Furnace is very quiet
Really like the standard screen door (but added a small drawer handle on the inside to pull the door closed) and opener
Dislikes (maybe not actual dislikes but things to think about)
Entry door is very stiff (still had door catch installed)
Neutral on Springfield pedestal (but I think I am liking it more as we go along)
Entry step is very stiff and could use a second step
Level on auto jack does not equal levels mounted on trailer
Added second closet but it is too small to hang clothes, but still useful for our needs
Solar display and surge protector display mounted too low (need to be above the fridge)
Neutral on the stereo and Jack antenna, like having them but have not used either much
So have we had any issues? Yes. We purposely spent the first two weeks traveling the Canadian Rockies to work out the bugs and return to Chilliwack if needed, which we did this past Tuesday.
Issues:
Kitchen sink: the sink is no longer attached with clamps underneath but instead is glued downed with Proflex (I believe). Ours came loose, but was fixed at factory
Awning needed to be readjusted
One kitchen drawer needed to be aligned properly
There were a few other issues that really turned out to be more operator issues or not properly knowing how things worked, i.e. thermostat.
*So what about the fridge. I initially had a propane issue but so far extremely satisfied with the way it is operating! Of course two + weeks is only the beginning but it is cold and stays cold even when traveling in the 90s. Let me try to explain my propane issue and fix. The first two nights we were plugged in and all was well. Then over then next week while running on propane the fridge would work for 6 or so hours then the check light would come in. A quick off/on and things would be good again for another 6 or so hours. I then removed the outside vent and the cover in front of the ignitor and pressed firmly in the ignitor area and low and behold the fridge has not stopped running on gas since (over a week ago). So hopefully this will continue and I am curious/hopeful of what happens when we return to Texas.
I am not going to post trailer photos here (go to the Friday forum to see them) but I have 2 of interest. One is my customization and the other is the addition of 12V/USB under the kitchen counter which was a really good idea. (Hmmm, for some reason the photo uploads don't seem to be working, will try later).
We will still be traveling for the rest of the month so after we get home I will update further if needed.
Steve

Hey, Steve, I wonder if we can get that TX graphic!
Sounds like some issues but hopefully getting them worked out.
Have a good trip back.

Just ask, they gladly made the graphic for us. Really not too worried about the "issues" and of now all seems good. Of course the issues are Issues on how they are dealt with and in that respect Tammy and Escape took care of us.

Great report, Steve.
Wow, it must have been quite noisy in your 19 then. I find the stove vent fan to be very loud and it drives me nuts. I turn it off as soon as possible. I also get tired of hearing the furnace run and will turn that off. I much prefer to use my small electric heater over the furnace. I would not be able to hold a conversation with anyone while either of those are running.

It's what you compare it to. Compared to the AC both of them are very quiet. By itself the heater is not to bad but I want to do something about the noisy stove vent

I am wondering if they are now using a different stove vent.

In the 19 we had the aluminum (silver) vent, the 21 has the black vent. It does seem to be a bit quieter. The AC though is quite obnoxious. As for the furnace it keeps us warm so I am not complaining about the noise .

The exterior vent is slightly different, but the Range Hood is still the Hengs with the tin box fan. No change from my 2015. Here's a photo from the It's Friday 2017 thread showing the same Hengs Hood.

Don't suppose the fan has changed so maybe you have worse hearing than I do, Steve! Of course, the A/C is still like an airplane apparently.
