New Escape 19 Home after pickup in Chilliwack
We got home safely from a quick 4 day up and back from our home in San Francisco Bay area to Escape in Canada. We drove 1834 miles in 4 days to get the trailer here while the Country fell into this virus mess.
I ordered my trailer last fall and it was ready for pick up last December but we were unable to get the time off to get it until last week. I just wanted to thank this forum and all of you here who provided me so much information I requested over about a year and half in ordering our new trailer. Your assistance was truly invaluable to me! Thanks.
Of course we are currently sheltered in our home honoring the current quarantine and, while it is killing me to just sit here and look at our trailer just sitting in our driveway, I do look forward to the coming years of travel that we are hoping begin once the quarantine is lifted.
So thanks to you all for all your assistance in our decision to buy a new Escape 19! :

Glad you're home safe and sound, Steve. Although you may not be camping for awhile, it's still something to see that shiny new rig parked in the driveway. Speaking of shiny, once warmer weather arrives I'll be giving our 19 a fresh coat of wax. Congratulations on your new camper. -Tom

You betcha, Tom. What wax do you use? Just a paste car wax? The warm weather will be here before you know it. I'm more worried about the quarantine getting lifted than I am about the weather. Even so at least we got that sucker here in our driveway now!

Last I heard they were still delivering trailers. I think as long as the border is open to commerce they will continue delivering.

Before waxing I give the camper a thorough wash using Meguiar's Deep Crystal Car Wash. For wax I've been pleased with Meguiar's Flagship Premium Marine Wax. For vinyl graphics and certain other areas I use 303 Aerospace UV Protectant. Note: if memory serves one should not wax new fiberglass for a certain period of time, several months I think. Perhaps someone could chime in on this. -Tom

My recollection is there is no reason to not wax the trailer when you get it as wax is used as a release agent in the mould. You wouldn't need an aggressive polish.

I asked on the 20th if I could come and get my trailer and was told no. I am close enough that my only stops are for gas.

For some reason I have never waxed a new car nor a new trailer. I have always waited at least 6 months for the paint and finish to dry out in the sun, wash it a couple of times. Then I wax it....

That makes sense to me. I'll wait until after the summer to wax it. Thanks!

Not sure. Did they tell you why? You don't even have to cross an international border??
