New Escape Lead Times

I just received an email from Escape. It said:

"We are now taking orders for June 2023 completion dates. Current base price is locked in for all units completed by September 30th 2023.

*We have limited slots available for June, July and August."

Six (6) Month Lead Time? WOW!

Wow is right..............??

No kidding - wasn't it around a year for a non 5.0 just recently?

So, cancellations, or increased output?

For either, seems there would be a wave of "move ups" as well?

It was a 18 month wait a bit ago.. But I doubt they are talking 5.0 for sept delivery.. Some models have 2 molds to pull from. I think they have only 1 5.0 mold

The email link states you can get them all including a 5.0 for a June completion date right now.

There is a recent post where a 5.0 order bumped up from 7/2024 to 8/2023.

I guess they finally got the price up enough to shorten lead time.

Not really funny…. Our price went up about $3k between deposit and pickup. I saw they went up even more than that for those picking up later. Sheesh.

I have a 50 order and it’s been moved up twice. Originally it was going to be ready December of this year and now it looks like the beginning of June. so I’ve been waiting a year and could’ve just today. Ordered one and got it the same time somethings not adding up.

I believe most are reading past the " we have limited slots available " statement.

Yeah, lumping televisions in with cars as major purchases is a big span. Car prices have gone up, up, up while televisions have become quite cheap.
The Escape wait window shortening is not a surprise as interest rates have climbed and ETI has made several price increases.

Tesla cut prices 5-20% recently and saw a very large increase in interest / purchasers. It's not rocket science that sales slow when prices go up and sales increase when they fall.

A good salesman can sell anything and earn a good living. I love a good sales pitch! when I was running our farm the John Deere man came around and then the Case guy. Both good equip. Very good sales people. Fun!

Sokmeone once said "Nothing happens until something is sold"

Goes to trailers too it appears.

When they open a factory in Mexico. I am missing the economics of a Texas factory when they could go a little farther south. That’s what the big three have done.

There does seem to be a move up of dates. A friend was expecting their 17B later this year and that's now turned into June.

The need to now get serious about the build sheet lead to an interesting session the other day with two other Escape owners. It was like a mini Escape forum. Lot's of opinions about the options.

Really a dramatic move. Just a year ago lead time for 5.0s was almost two years; now everything is six months! Sounds as though orders have really dropped off.

Last year some were predicting that with people returning to normal travel (airlines, hotels), many who bought RVs during the pandemic would be selling theirs. But I haven't seen a slew of used-Escape ads. Perhaps folks appreciate the long-term value of their MFG-trailers.

I wonder if Escape will be able to speed up the E23 prototype development. . .

How many people on here would actually sell their trailer for a 23?

The biggest variable to that equation is the price of the 23. I suspect it’s going to be quite a bit higher than the other Escape models.

The aluminum frame of the 23 is certainly appealing. If you asked us before we bought our 21C (our first RV) we would have said the dry bath on the 23 is also a major upgrade. Having traveled with the 21C, though, we’ve found the wet bath isn’t the negative we thought it might be for us.

We’re very happy with our 21C, but we are curious to see the final product and price for the 23.

Why would they have "limited slots" that were not filled by existing orders moving up in time...............?
