New Kayak for "Space Challenged" travellers

Came across this nesting kayak that breaks down into a small enough package to fit in a relatively small space, even inside your Escape or in the back of your tow vehicle. Appears that it will be available in Feb 2018 and the price at $1795 does not seem too out of line. Looks promising. https://pakayak.com/

At first I thought you were going to show a kayak with a 3' beam.

It would be handy, and I do prefer a rigid kayak to an inflatable one. One thing I don't like is that dip on the side of the cockpit opening. I know, with a spray skirt it wouldn't matter. But more than half the time I use mine I don't bother with the spray skirt.

Nice looking 'yak. The hull to hull connection looks solid.

It'd be easier then me stowing my conventional 16' on the roof of the truck. Just disassemble and place in the floor of the truck box.

Did anyone see what the kayak weighs?

Nesting kayaks have been around for years. They work well for air travel too.

I'm done with sit-in kayaks, or at least my 50+year old body is. Sit-on-tops are just so much more comfortable to me, especially on longer paddles. Either that or a nice canoe.

I like a canoe because I can sit on the seat, sit on the seat with my legs outstretched on the gunnels, stand up, kneel or kneel with my butt on the seat.

Yep. I recall a long paddle in a borrowed sit-in on the Blanco river awhile back. I was sore, painfully so, for several days afterwards. I can do a decent half day with a canoe without those issues. I ain't 30 no more.

If you really need to stretch - buddy of mine set the canoe, surfing on a wave, mid river, and then stood up. His companion then proceeded to do a hand-stand on the bow-seat.
They did not dump.

I've been eyeing this for awhile. sit on top that comes in two (for one person) or three (for two people) pieces. easy to transport. versatile. a bit pricey for all three pieces $900 US..

Internet search indicates 55 lbs for the 14’ Pakayak Bluefin model.

thanks- my yaks weigh 40 lbs each. 55 is much more.
