New Rims (Well, sort of)

The original white center caps where shockingly way too white so I painted them to match our grey truck and our grey stripes. It splits the shades of each.

Nice. I’ve contemplated painting our rims black on the trailer, to match the black rims on the truck. Mary won’t let me though…. I’ve noticed that the center caps on these rims fade faster than anything else that’s white on the trailers (everything), so you got ahead of that problem.

You can get “chrome plastic” centers for that wheel style too. Also stainless steel “Beauty rings” for these wheels are available and very attractive.

Nice touch and they should last longer now protected from the UV light.

I had Beauty Rings and Baby Moons on my Red 1972 Ford Maverick with Air Shocks back in High School. With a 200 Straight 6 and 3-Speed on the Tree I thought I was pretty cool until someone wanted to race.

I will figure them out I think the hub centers came from E trailer and the rings came from a hot rod shop in Oregon or Washington. I will tey to find that

You could have waited a few months and they would have turned dirty yellow.

I like the white so I spay mine with an off white Krylon spray that more closely matches the trailer. Also the propane cover, also makes it easier to clean.

I can't decide between the chrome hub centers or spike lug nut covers. Gives the 5.0 that edgy "don't mess with me" vibe when it pulls into camp.

If you just had the single axle 5.0 those spikes would give you the chariot look and open up your naming options greatly. Something catchy like Ben Hurt You. “You can have my camping reservation when you pry it from my cold greasy potluck stained hand.”

The propane cover is a good idea. What color white did you use.

I had some left over grey for the centers. I think Beauty Rings are in my future.

For Gen 1s there was a whiter shade available, can't remember the exact name, something like Dove White. Now with the Gen 2 I use either Krylon Fusion ivory or Rustoleum Ivory Bisque. I also used it on my rear storage box and it's almost an exact match for the tongue box coating.
