Most new trucks come with built in. My 2015 GMC did. Other than that not sure.

If your truck doesn't have an integrated one, then last I knew the Tekonsha P3 is top notch. FWIW, it's been a while since I paid attn to what is new on brake controllers.

Ditto on the Tekonsha P3. Plug & play with most rigs once you have the right harness for your tow.

The P3 is, and has been, our choice. This morning we traversed a 5 mile steep (14%) grade, so I had to turn up the boost. Having forgotten how (it's been a while and I'm old!!), I looked at the display, punched the very-intuitive buttons and got it. Later, I noticed the 'book' icon and realized their instructions are built-in. Great product.

I'd read the instruction manual. I believe that boost is required only when the trailer is above a certain weight, and a 17A certain isn't above that prescribed weight.
