Ovens?

have been trying to post this question here for some time, but the site is apparently experinceing some problems.

Do you have an oven in your Escape? We are interested in a 19 footer, but would like to have an oven. Don't know whether this is a mod Reace would entertain, and I will ask him when we are closer to making a decision. But I thought I would ask you guys.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Ovens?

I think talking to Reace a long time ago he mentioned that it was going to be an option in the 19'
We have the 17' and darn it I REALLY would like an oven.... But we have the furnace there.. (and not an option for me to do without that)

So for now, I use a toaster oven when we are plugged in or my folding coleman one over the campstove outside...

Re: Ovens?

Hi: Art Davis...and WELCOME!!! We have a micro. oven, slo cooker, and a portable BBQ. and thats all I really need. If you get an oven it replaces the cook top range and displaces the drawers and some of the lower cabinet. Reace will have specifics as the ovens are avail. on a one off basis. That's what Escape is famous for. Alf

Re: Ovens?

I sure wish I had an oven.

Camping in warmer climes, the oven might make things a bit hot inside the trailer. But that's not where I camp.

Re: Ovens?

Our last stick trailer had an oven. We used it about 3 times in 12 years. I would rather have the storage myself. I really depends on the individual tough. I know some will bring a toaster oven, some even are convection. I just bring my Outback Oven, a small light solution that we use on canoe trips too. There are other portable propane ones as well.

Yep.. we have an oven.. we probably used 2x in 1 year (just to try it).. but we do put our pots & pans in there as well, so i'st kind-of like a storage as well.. We grill 95% ( 5% pasta )..

So would get an oven.. probably not.. maybe convection/microwave oven.. again just personal preference..

Re: Ovens?

Boy, if we could get a convection/microwave combo (have one at home, a Sharpe, and we use it 10:1 over our regular oven), I'd have it in there. Only problem is they're too big, at least for the small space over the refrig in the 5.0.

Re: Ovens?

I have tried a bunch of time to add a reply here, but have been having beaucoup problems with posting. Jeff is trying to iron them out, but please be patient with me if I seem pretty inept right now.

I just wanted to compliment 52 Chev on his range and ask a question: "Are both your stove top and oven lp?"

Thanks.

Re: Ovens?

Yes, both are lp. The oven requires lighting the pilot manually. The only down side to the oven is that it replaces the drawers that hold cutlery.

Re: Ovens?

Hi: 52 chev & Art Davis et al... I was wondering if the displaced cutlery drawers could be made into one and located under a shorter version of the closet. That way you could keep all your drawers together!!! Alf
