Passport America

Leaving soon on an extensive trip and plan to purchase a Passport America membership. Appreciate any reviews on usefulness.

#5 response will be used as a referral! (just for the fun of it)

I found PPA cg's was very restrictive as to when the discount applied. Ended up not renewing...we use KOA's and other means of locating cg's now, most without issues.

I have been a member for many years and I have seen everything from incredible to dismal. I always carefully check their online listing for restrictions and call ahead to see if they have space and are still PPA members.

We are life members. We've long since paid for the membership through the savings on fees. Yes, there are restrictions, and often you can't get the discounts on the weekend. That varies quite a bit though from place to place.

It sure is nice though to pay $15 instead of $30 or $20 instead of $40. We prefer BLM, Army COE, National Forest, National Park and State Park land for the majority of our camping instead of RV parks, but the PA membership has proven handy many times.

Thanks for the information, everyone. We will probably be able to make use of the PA membership enough over the next year to make it pay, so will go ahead.
