Picked up our 19!

Left Maine on New Year's Eve. Drove through Canada to Michigan, then over to Washington, and up to Chilliwack for our orientation on January 12th. We drove our 2010 Highlander, a great friend drove her 19' Roadtrek camper van. The three of us and our 4 dogs stayed in the Roadtrek for all but 3 nights... and it was great. What a fun trip! We did 150 to 250 miles a day. Weather cooperated, for the most part. No big storms. I was nervous about this leg of the trip and am glad it's over.

And how gorgeous is Montana? I had never to the Northwest... it is all gorgeous, but I found Montana to be particularly breathtaking.

After picking up our 19', we stayed at the Bay View State Park for 4 nights... got that tip from this forum. Thanks all! What great birding in the area. And a great little town called Edison with a really great bakery. You gotta go there!

Now heading south. May stay at a Cabela's tonight, then probably will head to Lewis and Clark State Park tomorrow. Will continue heading south to make our way to Costa Mesa, California by next Sunday... our daughters live in that area... and one is pregnant with our first grandbaby! Would love to be there by Sunday to hopefully watch the Patriots beat the Broncos (fingers crossed).

Then we'll head over to Quartzsite. Hope to see other Escapees there.

Plans end there. General idea is to get to the Grand Canyon, then over to the Carolinas where we have family. And then mosey on north to get home by May 1st-ish.

Nice trip Dolly! Grand Canyon for sure, if you've never seen it. I'd also say the many national and state parks in the canyonlands country are not to be missed.

A big plus to not have to rush anywhere on your maiden voyage! We also drove the west coast all the way down to San Diego and then to Grand Canyon, which on our whole 10 week trip was my favorite! We were there for 3 days towards the end of October. Other than Big Sur was our only real touristy activity. The rest was friends and family.
Bay View State Park was great! Next trip out we will be taking in as many National Parks as we can!

I'm in a 17B at La Posa West. I've been here since November 17th, and plan to stay until February 2nd, when I'll slide over to Dome Rock for the fiberglass trailer rally which starts on the week of the 8th.

Right now La Posa West (and most of the other areas) are pretty filled - the "Big Tent" show is running until the 26th, and is a short walk from my location.

Ack, we'll be like two ships passing in the night, or, like on the Alaska hwy.

We're planning on arriving there about then. Who knows, we might arrive a day or so before that. If not, we'll wave at you as we pass on the hwy.
