Smile Picking Up Our New Baby!

Hi All, we have been lurkers and question askers for a couple of years here on the forum (me and my husband 'wannabescape"). We are finally there! We pick up our new 5.0 TA on Monday morning! We couldn't be more excited, have been waiting a long long time for this day to come. I retired with the pandemic lockdown from a long career of teaching and my husband retires in May of this year - then we are ready to hit the open road.

We are a little anxious about towing it home for the first time. The weather up around Chilliwack and Sumas has been kind of exciting this fall/early winter. Hoping it goes smoothly.

We have really enjoyed the forum leading up to this point and can only believe we will get even more out of it once the trailer is actually in our possession!

Cool! Welcome to Escape ownership. After your honeymoon period is over, I wouldn't mind taking a look at your 5.0 if it's OK with you. You can't live too far from me - I'm in the Southview neighborhood.

would be more than happy to have you come take a look. We will have it at home for a couple of days before moving it to storage. If you have a way to contact me individually, I can let you know address and you could pop in Tuesday or Wednesday. Is there a direct message option on here? Of am I supposed to give out email or something?

I think most folks are in that category for the first tow. But I also think that long before you get home you'll already be more relaxed. The first for any aspect, going into a mall parking lot or a gas station etc. always makes you a little anxious but after you've done it a few times you wonder why you were so worried.

Enjoy.

I best thing my wife andI did was make up a ready to go check list for inside and outside.

She does the inside list I do the out.

Lots of little things to check before you move.

But it won’t take you long to get comfortable.

Good luck.

I keep a laminated check list on a hook next to the door. You can find several by searching the forum. Start there and modify for your trailer.
Most comprehensive and anal one I found included "Make checklist".
