Polishing a 3 year old 17 B
Hi I just spent the day "playing " with our new to us 17B ,,,you know , checking battery,,,toilet, water situation, and window openings as well as stabiliser jacks and stuff,,,The outside is in great shape but obviously does not have the shine of a NEW NEW 17 B
Whats the best way to maximise that beautiful Fibreglass shell,,?? Anyone got any tricks please?
Thanks Moeniac

Hi: Moeniac...We just finished a 3 day BuffnShine on our 3yr. old. I used Meguiars Cleaner/wax applied with some old wool socks and buffed with some old Tee's. Trouble is I'm down to my Uniform and PJ's NOW!!!
Funny how the 5.0 doesn't look that big when you start . Alf

We have had good luck with NuFinish on our Scamp (still hoping for a new Escape soon) . It is easy to apply and wipe off and seems to last very well.

I prefer the warm, rich, brown sheen of massive amounts of road dirt. That "ah, I've been on a long adventure" look.
(OK - so I do clean it, but only when it warms up)

Re: Polishing a 3 year old 17 B
Couple years back the father of a friend of mine had an old fibreglass trailer, not sure of the make, but he purchased a kit from canadian tire, that is used to bring back the lustre on fibreglass boats. There was several steps to the process, but in the end it looked awesome and close to new. Sorry also can't remember the product's name, but an enquiry at CT in the boat area might work.

Hi: All...VertGlas I think is the kit...but thats only for very old, very chaulky finishes. I think it's about $100./kit, so 2 bottles of Meguires @ $7-9.ea. is cheaper. Elbow grease is free!!! Alf

Re: Polishing a 3 year old 17 B
Reminds me of an event a few years back with a dear friend from the Philippines. We were going to help clean up some grills after a church cookout, so I told him, "All you need to bring are some brill o pads and some elbow grease". He confessed to me later, that he'd had no trouble finding the brill o pads, but had to ask an attendant, "where do you keep the elbow grease?"
