Last January we purchased our Bigfoot 25RQ from Peden RV, Sidney, BC on Vancouver Island. They sell campers new and used to US citizens all the time. There was never an issue with British Columbia's government regulations on us buying, using our US dollars at the existing exchange rate at any point in BC or the US.
We did have to sign a document stating the trailer was never going to be used in Canada on our way to the border, therfore we didn't have to pay any Canadian taxes.
We crossed the border into the US with no problem and had no problem registering the trailer in Minnesota.
Except to gain more revenue from Escape's US customers, there is no reason I see for Escape's inflated exchange rate.
Thank you for reporting your recent first-hand experience. This verifies what O'Connor RV in Chilliwack told me recently as well. Only time will tell whether or not the Board @ KV decides their two-tiered pricing no longer serves them well and reverts to what it was prior them buying ETI.

All pricing on the website is now shown in USD. However, as a Canadian company they are happy to accept payments in either currency. The policy now is to use the last two weeks exchange rate average (as of build sheet sign off date) to determine their basis and round to the nearest $100 as per the Bank of Canada.
