Product delivery vs shipping

Has anyone personally taken product from the US into Canada for Escape Trailer Industries to use in your trailer during manufacturing? I'm asking about delivering not shipping.

I plan on taking items when I go up to deliver my build sheet. I'm wondering if I'll need to pay duty or if there's a dollar limit before needing to pay duty. Is there any documentation I might need, like receipts?

I plan on taking items such as the upholstery material, kitchen faucet, etc., etc.

Thanks group!

product delivery

Donna, when we crossed the border in October we had the Jeep GC stuffed to the top with items we would need to use in the trailer for a few weeks on the way home. Included was pots, pans, dishes, etc. plus all of our clothing and the dog. All the guard said was to make sure we signed our pass ports which were new and we forgot. Crossing back to pick up the trailer on this side, the Jeep was still stuffed, the US guard only wanted to know what business we had in Canada. The same experience we had three years ago when we towed the licensed trailer back. JUST DON'T TAKE CASH TO PAY FOR THE TRAILER.

Good advice, crossing the border with more than $10K in cash sets off all kinds of alarms.

We took up our upholstery material.
I was prepared to declare it, but the subject didn't come up when we crossed the border.

Donna we brought up our RV microwave for installation at ETI. That was at the time when you actually went to the factory for pickup. Like most, we traveled in and out just fine.

Donna, we also brought a microwave and a front metal storage box (this was before Escape offered the front fiberglass storage box). No problem at all crossing the border.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the info. I don't anticipate taking more than about $600-$800 worth of product. All will be used in the build. I just figured if I had to pay duty, might as well have it shipped.

When I go to pickup the trailer, I'll have just a day's/night's worth of clothing, sleeping bag and my coffee pot!! I'll spend one night close to the border for a double check of systems, then book for home. I won't take the five days Dave&Kathie took Because in a week, I'll be packing for 8 days at the Oregon Gathering.

If anyone else has more to add to the discussion... chat on!
