Are you allowed to bring raw meat in your fridge or freezer when crossing the border? US/Canada/Mexico

We did a couple of crossings in the last few months, last one early this month. Entering US each time an agro official came into the trailer and watched me go through the fridge. No raw meat but I did have to toss a few veggies. I think which fruit/veggies are tossed may depend on the location but not sure.
Agriculture inspection is very serious; not so the dogs. I keep offering to show them all our vet and rabies papers and as of yet nobody on either side has been interested. We did get dog treats once though.

you even have to be careful of the dog food, if any, if there are any meat ingredients....

No Lamb for Ewe. Seriously we were told no dog food with lamb in it. We just haul dry dog food in the original bag and have not had a problem on two crossings this year.

I don't feed raw but most pet stores sell some form of processed raw food these days.

Jasper has been raw fed his entire 11+ year life and we will continue to do so. The odd time on holidays we by that stupid expensive dog food with no grains, but we mostly feed him raw still. Any grocery store carries meat, though not at as good of a price as we get at home from a couple suppliers. Sometimes bags of chicken parts can be got cheap. We often find deals on beef, whether whole or ground and buy a bunch. Some pet food stores sell raw dog food and we have found some not too bad. Even some Walmart stores sell it. When on the coast fish heads, guts and other parts are readily available too, and usually very cheap.

Raw meat is everywhere, it is just a matter of how much you have to spend.

Though we do check ahead to see if any specific meat is prohibited, almost all meat is accepted if it is in unopened and store labelled wrap. We have done this a bunch of times, but never a lot.

Unfortunately the bulk raw dog food we buy is not labelled so we need to buy that in the US. That said, we have brought some and if asked say what it is, and fortunately have never been checked.

We always tell the truth if asked about food.
