Real Beds!!!!!
Hey, did you guys know Escape Trailers is now installing REAL QUEEN SIZED BEDS -- NOT FOAM PADS or FOAM BEDS -- real coil queen sized mattresses installed in the 19 ft trailers!
Yippee! They are so comfortable.
Tammy and Rease are geniuses!
How did they get these things in here Wow. We are very happy to have it!

Re: Real Beds!!!!!
We are pleased that we'll be getting the real mattress, too (in Jan., 2012). Tammy told us it weighs about 30 pounds more than the former foam mattress. Is it very hard to lift the mattress to access the storage below? Or maybe the doors provide all the access that's needed. --Liz

Yes it is a bit heavier. We use the doors underneath but you can move the mattress up. They had to shorten the flip up counter that goes in the bed area (it is an option) to make the mattress able to go up, but not much.
We will try to send pics as soon as we can.

Re: Real Beds!!!!!
We did away with our foam mattress and replaced it with 8 inch memory foam and a 2 inch memory foam topper. Our bed is very nice. I did see the new mattress at the factory during a recent visit.

Re: Real Beds!!!!!
I take it that if you get that setup for the 19' where the bed can be made into a dinette, you can't have the nice new mattress. Too bad! The double dinette is a great thing to have, too.

Not sure what you mean here. The queen bed is permanent in the back of the trailer. The dinette in the front of the trailer still converts into a double bed.

There is at least one person who has made a dinette in the rear bed area.
We just use the foam mattress that came with the trailer, and we both get great sleeps on it. No plans of doing anything else for some time yet.

Re: Real Beds!!!!!
We picked up our new trailer almost 2 weeks ago now. I love the queen bed. It is hard to make up the bed. we are considering the RV superbag. Any thoughts on how to get rid of the new trailer smell?

Use it lots. And leave the windows open. Like any vehicle, it only lasts a short while.
For making the bed, we have a fitted sheet, and a top sheet that is pinned with safety pins (hope to get buttons on soon) to the duvet for easy spreading in one fell swoop.

Re: Real Beds!!!!!
Have you tries the Travasak System Airstream utilizes, all in one bedding with top comforter, sheets, bottom comforter, all season. Makes the bed itself almost, just lay it on top.

Re: Real Beds!!!!!
Travasak has been out of business for quite some time now, I believe.

Re: Real Beds!!!!!
The real queen matress with coil springs in our new 19' is very nice; have slept on it for several nights since picking up our trailer and it is comfortable - feels like home. I agree with Cindy that it is a bit hard to make the bed from scratch, but once made the sheets and comforter fit snugly.
It is heavy enough that I do not plan on lifting it to access the storage underneath. It can be done, but it is much easier taking things in and out through the doors underneath. The only time I think I would lift the bed itself would be if I needed to access the pump or do repairs.
