Reversing sensors: anyone installed them ?

I will be travelling solo when I get everything organised, so I am concerned about reversing without help when boon docking. would prefer not to reverse into something. I have already figured out the 4 camera/split screen wired camera set up I want but I am thinking that audible sensors would be added protection. problem is cable length. They seem to make them for cars in abundance but nothing else. There is a "blind-spot" sensor setup for 18 wheeler's but that is not what I am after. Sensors mounted in the rear bumper of the trailer is what I want. Has anyone done this ? Can I cut the wires and splice them for sensors ? The cameras come with plenty of cable AND a handy quick disconnect plug.

Please post a link to what sensors you're talking about.

Those will work, but you'll have fun drilling four 1 inch holes in a metal bumper. You'll also need to relocate the sewer hose normally carried in a trailer/rv bumper somewhere else.

I'd buy some small metal or plastic boxes to mount the sensors either above or below the bumper - plus you could angle the two on each end of the bumper to get wider coverage when backing than just 4 on a flat plane.

Not worried about actually mounting them. Worried about cable length to the unit in the T.V. and bridging the gap. Never having dealt with sensors I do not know if it is simply a wire that you can cut and extended because all the "sensing" is done in the sensor and simply a signal is sent down the wire or if some special wire is needed because the "magic" happens in the box on the dash and you can not mess with it.

Nope just regular wire as they're analog sensors. No magic involved.

Thank you. That is what I was hoping. I usually spend more time planning out any job than actually DOING the job. That is why I had to swap over to instant coffee
