Personally I would not mention how much you used it in fear that would be calculated into some wild deprecation formula. Nice to hear you had some good times in it before this sad happening.

Wow, glad no one was hurt. Best of luck dealing with the insurance company, hope you had replacement value coverage.

That is such a sad picture. I hope that you are able to replace the trailer soon, and very glad that you were not in it when that tree fell.

HOLY CRAP!!!!

Very glad nobody was in the trailer at the time. Super glad nothing hit your house at the same time. Yay on having insurance.

Good news - if you want to replace with a brand new one, the delivery schedule for a 19 is mid Sept or early Oct. Upgrade in size to a 21 and you're looking at mid/late Sept.

Heck, 6-7 months. Nothing like the year it used to be. Just enough time to get that replacement value check from the insurance company and start buying new stuff for it.

But, seriously, what a shock-a-roo to have that happen.

Wow!!! That's quite something! What a shock it must have been, discovering your Escape and all the damage done....
Hopefully insurance turns out to be what they say they are, and you can move on with whatever travel plans are next.
Best wishes with everything!!!

Maybe you can get some help from this forum to show the adjuster what a fair price would be for 2014 19' Escape.

You can't expect a non-Escape person to know that these trailers sell for top money in a day or two.

If an administrator or other knowledgeable forum member could search the posts to see what the last few have sold for, including, if necessary, contacting the sellers or buyers privately, that would be very convincing information to supply to an adjuster.

Maybe members who have bought or sold 19's could privately contact you to let you know what they sold theirs for, or what price someone paid to buy a similar used 19.

When you get a proposal from the adjuster, consider seeking further advice here. I am sure others will offer suggestions and support.

Sorry for your loss.

We are sorry to learn of your misfortune as well. Just as the one of the few positives, from this incident is the reinforcement of the danger of trees in or out of a wind, another is the willingness of the Escape community to help you recover. Just say the word and we will be very willing to provide documentation on our 19 sale last summer as I'm sure others will too. Best of luck as you go forward. Better days are ahead.

I know how you might be feeling - our 1996 Bigfoot trailer was hit by a homeless motorhome who’s “driver” didn’t set the parking brake and it rolled into our side yard. The motorhome bounced off the trailer and rolled sideways down another slope but essentially totaled the Bigfoot, which we had owned for two months.

I was sad but the insurance company did their research and we were paid a fair value for the camper and property damage. This helped purchase a better trailer for us, a 2012 Escape 19. So a happy ending after all.

Holy Bat Crap, Robin!

Wow! So sorry for your loss, and glad to hear nobody was hurt.

Is your insurance not replacement? If so, I image you would just get a quote from Escape. This is what I have.

That is a very good idea . I once had a 1964 Chevy Impala that was totaled and they thought 500 . Was a great price . Ended up with the going price of almost 1300. It was in the early 70's . Another experience was after the 1994 Earthquake concerning the house . After the deductible they thought 5000. was great ended up over 70,000. You just have to fight and get your numbers to show the adjusters . Pat

Good news everyone was OK. Sorry, to see what happened to the 19er in the pic, sure makes camping at Quartzsite where there are no trees seem very safe.

Heartbreaking, and a life disruption as well. Hopefully, things will work out well when all is said and done.

As far as value, a good starting place for the adjuster would be the manufacturer, Reace and Tammy. Good luck in getting back on the road.

Sure, paint a nice picture of that desolate waste land.

Hope to see you there next year.

I'm very sorry to see that Barbara. The good news is, nobody was hurt. Trailers can be replaced.
