Certainly not a catastrophe....but disappointed. Just got my 2017 out of winter storage, and the rock guard is rippled/warped. Is this typical? During the build ETI replaced the rock guard due to warping..... Still love dear Ducky Duddle/my 17B... just disappointed this part didn't hold up better.
Being new to trailering, was excited to do my first solo hitching-up, today. Small triumph, but glad to check it off my worry list
The rock guard is made of plastic and it's relatively thin and flexible. It will start to dip in a little bit in between the aluminum frame supports. There is an easy fix however. Take a little bit of PVC or plastic sheeting, cut it to fit in between the frame supports and attach it on the underside of the rock guard. If you cut it just right, it should push into place and need very little if any adhesive. You can also use a thin sheet of rigid foam board. This has the added benefit of providing insulation to the single pane window when the rock guard is closed on a cold night, and it will also reduce condensation.
