shake down cruise
Well we headed out last weekend for our first trip in our new to us 17 b
Two of us and two dogs for a three night trip to Jasper
Everything worked perfectly except for the bifold screen door ( i think we will get a roll up one)
5 to 8 degrees below freezing each morning which froze the water hose but it was going again by early morning each day( we just turned the pump on for bit)
Heater kept us toasty warm at night
Jasper is wonderful in the early spring as the wildlife is concentrated in the valley bottoms ( even saw a grizzly) Campground was almost empty on sunday night
We had one bit of excitement when a young deer jumped out in front of us on the way there but everything stayed in a straight line and we missed her by a foot or two
Best trailer we have ever had

What was the issue with the bifold screen door?
I have the same and haven't experienced any problems with it.
I don't think you can do a simple substitution for the roll up screen door. It has a shroud that is part of the initial build.

Seems the upper joint has worked loose and it drags and pops out of the track.
The roll up one seems to leave room for a few coat hooks at the door.
Need to research a little more

There would most likely be a way of working one in. I like that it is out of the way when not in use. The bifold would appeal to me more than those PITA ones that hold to the door with a magnet.

If you think it will get below freezing at night... disconnect the hose from the hose bib and throw the entire hose under the trailer. You do have a jug of water to flush the toilet, right?
I've organized enough campouts for all molded towables, that keeping the water running during the day is paramount. Not so much at night, if you have water to flush. YMMV

I doubt this is about the city water supply hose, if only because I would guess that fully serviced campsites are not open yet in Jasper, but mostly because of this:

Turning the pump on wouldn't likely help the city water hose. I assume that the hose from tank to pump is freezing.
Alan, can you clarify?

Not supposed to turn on pump when connected to city water. I don't know why. But I read it in the manual.

The pump is only for on-board water. If you are hooked up to city water, the pump isn't needed.

Because then either the city water pressure would "win" and the pump wouldn't run (harmless but pointless), or the pump would "win" and suck the tank dry (and then burn out the pump) pointlessly instead of using the city water?

Right - this was my point.
Alan - which hose was freezing? Were you using water from the tank or from the campground ("city") water faucet?

Ah... so turning on the pump was the alternative, not the fix. Now I get it!
This doesn't violate the "don't turn on the pump if using city water" rule, because whether blocked by ice or just turned off, there wasn't any city water connected (and there was water in the tank to use).

Good to know. They start one campground earlier than the others and continue it later - that's Whistlers; the rest of Jasper fires up this weekend (the traditional Victoria Day long weekend kickoff to summer out here) or later. (The Wapiti campground is year-round, but has no water service to sites).
