we had a wood shower mat, it had a tendency to get mildew spots that were quite hard to bleach out. hence the dark grey hard rubber/plastic 'tile' mats. they are like a grid, but the one we're using has more flat than slots or holes, so its comfortable under bare feet.

We fill the sink with hot water and body wash. I sit, hubby stands. Rinse, use washcloth to wash with sink water. Rinse. Drain sink and rinse sink. Door open, curtain drawn, fan on. Step out to dry. Wipe down everything with microfiber towel. Uses about 2 gallons of water.

There seems to be a number of different Oxygenics shower heads. Is there one preferred? This one seems like it might have a fairly focused stream which could be helpful.
Before changing out our stock ETI supplied shower head it took about 45 seconds (from memory) to get to the line on a gallon container. The new Oxygenics head was no different. It does provide higher pressure though, but still too much water output.

Enjoy,

Perry

the width of the mat is 23 and 3/4 inches. the back side ( closest to the toilet ) is square.
the front side ( closest to the door ) is not square.
the left side length ( inside wall ) measures 20 and 3/4 inches.
the right side length ( outside wall ) measures 20 and 1/4 inches. both before the cutout for the drain.
I made mine square initially and then trimmed to fit.

huh. "This item cannot be shipped to your selected delivery location. Please choose a different delivery location."

maybe it violates some California toxic materials law ? Oxygenics website mentions prop 65 (said toxic labeling) and says they label all their stuff.... OH, Santa Cruz County has a 2.0 G/H max shower head rule (we're in perpetual drought these days). But these are 1.8G/hr

Squeegee?

Okay, I have to ask: what is the purpose of using a squeegee on the bathroom walls after a shower? Do you do this at home as well? This may be one aspect of personal hygiene that my mother never taught me.

low-flow shower head?

I replaced my shower head with an Oxygenics. It works fine but I'd still like something with lower flow. Can someone recommend one?

prevent hard water spots. as I said, I've never bothered, but I've known people who did this at home each shower, they squeegeed the glass shower stall to keep it all shiny.

Yes we squeegee at home. Only because we have hard water and our glass door would become opaque if we did not.
As for the wet bath in the Escape it does several things for us
1. Helps with keeping the humidity down in the camper.
2. Keeps the restroom available for later without getting wet.
3. Bonus item is the restroom is always clean

I have a question, too. If the door is closed, why the shower curtain? Is it needed to keep water from escaping around the closed door? I'm just thinking that shower curtains take longer than walls to dry, because the folds push together and trap beads of water.

I won't go to Hell for failing to squeegee the shower. It will be for some other thing.

Squeegee so it’s dry faster. Curtain to protect door and prevent water at top and bottom of door where it allows ventilation.

any water spraying or splashing on the door would dribble on the floor outside, since the door is outside the shower stall, and has intentionally ventilation gaps top and bottom.

re shower curtain replacement, we got a generic curtain liner at a local hardware/homegoods kind of store, and cut to fit. dirt cheap. existing hangars clipped right onto it.

Anyone know where to get more of those clips? I could use some more.

Thank you very much, Ryan. I hadn’t even considered that space not being square. Appreciate the info.

Thanks, John. We might do with a teak mat like others on the forum and remove while showering. Maybe it wouldn’t be prone to mildew that way? Or still might any way?? Well, we haven’t made a decision yet.

Amazon has them. Look under curtain carriers. That’s where I got my replacements

Our matt is teak, but dries fast enough no mold or mildew has ever been a problem.
