Size of Pin Box Holes

Looking for the exact size of the holes above the kin pin on the pin box, can anyone help me with this?

Based on pictures I've seen looks like these holes are on every 5.0TA pin box above the king pin.

Thought I would ask here before reaching out to ETI.

I found push in plugs that fit perfectly at the local hardware store, I believe they were 1/2" but I'm not positive. As they are plugged I can't measure them.

Does anyone know the purpose of these two holes?

Best guess I've heard other then an air vent for bird nests, is they are for the installation of the plastic pin box covers that Lippert sells.

Gee, a "pin box cover", who knew that even existed? They start at only $149! I have no idea why I need that.

Pay attention next time you're in a full campground to all the 5th wheels that have the cowling.

The reason I wanted to know the size of hole is I plan on mounting the Anderson ultimate hitch latch handle using one of these holes at least temporarily. If I remember correctly the holes are somewhat accessible from the rear/backside of pin box.
