I responded to the thread on cruise control and it got posted twice. So, with my powers as a moderator, I tried to remove the second post, and ended up deleting the entire thread.

Perhaps Jeff can restore it for us, and give me a how-to lesson.

hmmmm.. someone has "hoppy" fingers.. I'll see if there's a way to restore the thread w/o too much trouble.. if not it's bye bye to cruise control..

OK.. It's a tad more involved to restore a thread that's been deleted.. I can do it, but it's not worth the trouble for a thread that's not overly important.. So let's just say..oops!!

If it was something really highly valuable.. I could access the database, run a report to look at the message_topic_id, find the gaps in the message numbers, search for those messages..dump them out & then restore them back.. eeek, not a wise use of time..

So, I'll look into a way that when something is deleted it's not really deleted just moved into an area that's hidden and not accessible to users (other than myself) that keeps the message & thread intact so all we do is "move" them back to their respective area.. should be better in the long run..
