Yes, you do get a spare tire, complete with cover, mounted to the rear bumper.

Ask to buy an extra one from ETI. You ARE talking lights and Jim is talking tires, right??

Oops, I lost my mind.....again.

You would need a complete light, as with LED lights they are an all-in-one unit. I certainly would not worry about it, as I have never heard of them failing, though I imagine anything is possible.

There's so many lights in these trailers, I wouldn't worry about one burning out and with the bother of carrying a replacement. If we needed to have replacement parts for items we think will wear out or break, we'd all need a chase truck full of parts everywhere we go. Fortunately, ETI uses readily available and standard parts. Alf can get the same thing in Florida that I can buy in Oregon.

I know that when two of the interior lights in my trailer started flickering right after we got them, I emailed Escape, and Tammy sent two entire light housings, as the LED strips were a part of the whole housing.

I'm not sure, but I would guess the brake lights are the same, so if I were you, I would email Escape and ask if you can purchase extra when you pick up your trailer, as that's not the sort of part you'd probably be able to find at just any AutoZone. You'd probably have to order it online otherwise.

If you do email them and get a part number, please post it here for future reference. Thanks!

Another option to ordering spares, if anyone would like to, is just contact Escape. I did that when I added the second set of tail/brake lights, and got them no problem, and at a decent price to boot.

I've lost track of which models - if any - currently have an extra set of high-mounted tail and stop/turn lights standard, and who has ordered which option. Will this trailer have the extra set? If it does, then having a spare doesn't seem important to me, since stop and turn signals will still be visible if one lamp fails.

If one does fail you would presumably want an exactly matching replacement (rather just any LED stop/turn/tail lamp that an auto parts place carries), but the same is true of the tow vehicle (or other cars and trucks). Sure, I drive a Toyota Sienna and there are Toyota dealers all over the place, but they don't stock tail lamps to fit my Sienna, so it would normally take a few days to get one in from the regional or national warehouse. In a couple of days I could get a trailer lamp couriered from a supplier (perhaps from Escape, especially if in Canada), too.

because the #s change ETI, could not readily address this and I can understand that... so, when I pick the trailer up I will ask for a spare tail/brake light assembly. I guess the top lights on a 21 are only for brakes? it would be nice if they also were turn indicators.

Yes, as Jack indicated, the circuit for turn signal and brakes is the same for each side, so you actually don't have any choice but have both operate.

LED failures

LED's are extremely rugged lights. They don't fail like traditional light bulbs. They are solid state devices. There is no filament to burn out.

LED lights fail for two common reasons.
1st.) the contacts can corrode. Any light will fail of the wires corrode to the point where the electrical connection is broken.
2nd.) Physical damage. If the circuit board is broken or exposed to the elements the light or part of the light will fail. How the light is manufactured can determine how much of the light fails.

Here is a fun video that shows a rugged LED headlamp.

A few days ago I noticed that one of the running lights on my 19' had a few spent led bulbs. How difficult are these to replace? I don't have any desire to buy a riveter.

This is exactly why I requested the old style incandescent marker lights with LED bulbs on BlackJack, no replacement issues.
