The extra front light helps illuminate your hitch area and part of your box. since your batteries are in your box, it is simple to attach a LED light inside or on the lid inside on a switch for light to see items on the box bottom. there is a stock light on the driver side that illuminates the dump area. There is a stock light on the passenger side with switch inside the door. All of the lights have built in switches for on/off operation. If you are getting the LED light strip, I recommend you ask for the passenger side light be mounted below the belly band so it illuminates the step area at night. There should be n/c for moving the light down. In addition ask for amber lenses on all you exterior lights, again n/c. I recommend the front light also...

Interior storage box light
I added LED strip lighting to the interior of my storage box that I built this winter. The LED"s are mounted below an upper frame lip and are actuated with a magnetic proximity switch when the lid is raised. Easy hook-up as the 12V is right there with my batteries.

I use one of these in every exterior storage area, in the front box, near the floor just before you enter the bath, etc.
Works quite well plus the price is right.

We placed one at the foot of the bed on the bottom of the drivers side wall of our 5.0. If either us puts our foot on the top step the light illuminates the entire stair set, without bothering the other person. Many other uses too.
