When the fan in the bathroom is on, the door gap allows air flow into the bathroom, helping clear out the moisture after a shower. In cold weather it also allows some warm air from the heater to push into the bathroom even when the door is closed.

Highly recommend the opening window in the bath, both for light and ventilation and since it is in the bath, if it gets some water from rain, no issue. There is a o/h fan and vent also standard.
