I like the modeling on the NL unit and very interested to see the Escape 23 when ready. Love the walk around queen idea.

You're probably the only one who thought that.

Not really. The specs include this:

30 AMP Service: Yes
50 AMP Service: 50 AMP Converter
That makes no sense, so I assume what it has is 30 amp 120 volt shore power service, and a converter-charger with 50 amp 12 volt DC output... both just like an Escape.

Besides this NL trailer is 27.5' overall with a shell that is 23'. Based on current Escape sizing methodology this would be an E 27. I would expect an Escape E 23 to have a shell around 19-19.5' long based on how all other current trailers are named.

Good point - I missed that in the specs. I was wondering how they were getting all the counter space and long lounge/dinette in there. I like the concept of the floor plan. Even though rear dinette is sacrificed, I like the rear (dry!) bath. Wet bath is my wife’s may concern with Escape. I don’t understand it.

Correct, the E23 will be in keeping with our current definition i.e, hitch to bumper.

I'll take it, but in most cases I can fill the tank not far from my camping destination.

Remember to request larger black and grey tanks to go with that fresh water capacity, unless you are routinely in the bizarre situation of have sewer but not fresh water available. Like many design decisions, water tank size can rapidly snowball into a significant set of changes.

An interior height of six foot eight? Yow-ZA that gets my attention. Bidee-bidee-bidee...um...lesseee, sell ET-19 for maybe $25K, subtract that from northern price, down to maybe $38K? Yeah right. Would play that tune If I was 2o years younger. (OK, 15.)

The gray is 40 gal
The black is 30

Do you not think that would work in most instances for most users?

For 55 gal. fresh, I'd rather have 50 gray, 30 or even 20 black.

Yes, 40 US gallons grey and 30 US gallons black would work with a 55 US gallon freshwater tank. I was assuming that you were asking Escape to provide a 55 US gallon tank, inspired by the Northern Lite specs... and that would require the larger grey and black tanks as well to make sense. Escape 21' grey and black tanks are only 28 and 20 US gallons. Ed, what were you asking for, if not larger tanks in an Escape? If you want all of the Northern Lite 23' tank sizes in the future Escape 23' (which makes sense), then I'm not sure why only the freshwater tank size was mentioned.

The right balance between tank sizes depends on how the trailer's facilities are used. For instance, for someone who uses the toilet little if at all the grey should match the fresh size... but that would make no sense for many people, since they would never get close to filling the grey tank.

Escape's current sizes for the 21' (28 fresh, 20 black, 28 grey, all in US gallons) are at this maybe-no-toilet-use extreme. Northern Lite's sizes for this Boreal 23FB are a more balanced compromise, with total waste capacity larger than fresh, but neither waste tank able to take the full fresh volume.

Since I posted this, each "50" has been replaced by "60" in Northern Lite's published specifications... and my comment remains valid (the Escape converter-charger is actually rated at 55 amps of DC output, but the difference between 50, 55, and 60 amps is not significant).

Do any trailers have a design with interconnected grey and black tanks with valving and check valve of some sort in between? Meaning you could sent gray water to your black tank but not vice versa.

I've filled the black tank, but never filled the grey or emptied the fresh water tank. So, I'm not "full of it".

Sorry if I wasn't clear, only the fresh tank was mentioned because I liked the 55 gal. in the NL trailer, If a larger fresh tank is used I expect the design will include a a properly sized gray and black tanks.
