The Travels of Rubea II

Hello Everyone,

We have received a lot of compliments regarding the cover photo on the 2011 Escape Calendar. Well the owners are currently making their way from Gabriola Island just off the west coast to Florida and they sent me an email some information about Rubea II that I thought I would share.

Hi Reace & Tammy,

We are presently in Cannon Beach Or. for some R & R and factory outlet shopping. Tomorrow we move on to Tillamook where we plan to take in the Air Museum.

It is a balmy 37F and we are being hit by numerous hail storms and steady wind. Rubea is cozy and we are comfortable.

Have you started the move yet.

I will get an itinerary of our travels to Florida to you shortly. Tonight is night # 700 that Paddy and I have spent in an Escape product and we will turn over 40,000 km's on Rubea II sometime next week.

All the best to you all and to Escape Trailers for a Happy and Prosperous New Year.

Ian & Paddy
.

Pretty cool if you ask me as Rubea II was the very first Escape 5.0 we made but she was also Ian and Paddy's second Escape travel Trailer as their first Escape was a 17' Escape which they purchased in 2004.

Happy New Year!

Tammy

Carrying Bicycles

That is certainly an interesting method of carrying two bicycles.

Re: The Travels of Rubea II

This is the way Ian & Paddy were transporting bikes when I first met Rubea II about four years ago. Wonder why the change?

Re: The Travels of Rubea II

I saw them! On Christmas Eve Day, Kathleen and I were driving to my folks' place in Chilliwack, and we chased this couple as they were driving east on Highway 10. It took a while, but at a traffic light in Surrey, I asked them if they were on this forum. Paddy said no, but they were going to Bolerama. We were not towing at the time.

Tammy, please pass on greetings from the guy in the Rav4 who flagged them down!

(It seems that last week we were in the same neighbourhood as them - we were at Grayland Beach on the Washington coast. We can attest that the Escapes fend off hail well.)

.
Edit: I think it was them. They were coming off the ferry in Tsawwassen. And the truck is the right colour. But I thought it was a Dodge. I think the license plate frame named a dealer in Parksville, which is consistent with Gabriola Island. Maybe they have a new truck, or maybe I remember wrong.

Re: The Travels of Rubea II

Has anyone heard from Ian and Paddy? As nasty as the weather has been in parts of the US, I'm hoping they're finding some sun and warmth in their travels. The weather between Oregon and Florida has been filled with snow!
